Lots of mocks with Banks there. I could easily see the Bears then trade Jones during the draft and clear the way for Banks there at LT. Either way, Jones won't be the LT in 2026 no matter what so then why wait?

Is Connerly looked at as someone who can or will play LT in the NFL?

I know he’s highly regarded by some but I don’t have an opinion on him. I just haven’t taken the time to truly evaluate him.

His feet were atrociously slow, which also showed on his limited tape at Yale but he was playing against low level competition so it didn't matter. Combine numbers would've been really valuable on a project like this guy.

Agreed. Even in a situation like Kiran's. real athletes show signs they belong and he did not. While I have not completely given up on him, I think he gets added to the list of 3rd round failures from Poles.

Hampton at 10?

wouldn't shock me in the least.
I saw the Mcshay/Muench podcast, backed up by the chart which show how much extra yardage he makes after contact and just saw Kiper call him special. All of the updated boards from the top prognosticators rank him in that 10-12 range as well.

at this point, my guess is Williams or a RB.

Here is Jahns Bears pick in todays NFL beat writers mock draft 2.0

10. Chicago Bears: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

Do the Bears need a running back? Probably not. Coach Ben Johnson has been very complimentary of veteran D’Andre Swift. But the Bears are in no position to pass on a blue chip player in their current state, regardless of their other roster needs and the value of other positions. Give me Jeanty over the third-best offensive lineman (BANKS - who might be best at guard) and the pass rushers who require some projection because of their lackluster production in college (Stewart) or are undersized. In Jeanty, the Bears add an elite difference-making weapon for Johnson’s offense. The Lions did the same when running back Jahmyr Gibbs was drafted at No. 12 two years ago. Johnson will remember that. His offense in Detroit changed because of it. Jeanty could have the same impact with the Bears. So, give me the potential star in Jeanty. — Adam Jahns

Hampton at 10?

Hampton is a no doubt great player. Every time I watched UNC, he was the best player on the field including when Maye was there. Brett Kollmann absolutely loves him. However, I still can’t see drafting him, especially at 10.

He did throw out an interesting scenario of drafting Williams at 10, Conerly Jr. at 39, and the great white hope at 41.

You mean like kiran amendingdong?

My guess is a guard/OT hybrid like donovan jackson in the 2nd round.
My guess would be either Jackson or Milum, with Jackson being my preference with the way he stepped up and played in the CFP.

I'm getting used to the fact that #10 is going to be Shemar Stewart.

Donovan Jackson is one of my favorite players in the draft. It was amazing what he did at LT after being forced into that role. He’s an elite LG with OT flexibility. If he’s there at 39, I’d be shocked.

That last part is the complicated part of it all. I think it's safe to assume that trading down will be difficult this year, which sucks cause I think 15-25 is a nice sweet spot if you want a RB not named Jeanty. But, if you do decide to not take one at 10, 4 of the backs may be off the board by 39. It seems that Henderson is gaining more momentum to be a later 1st and Judkins to come off the board shortly after. Honestly, I feel like the Raiders will almost certainly take one of the OSU guys in the 2nd.

I guess that is a real possibility. Can you imagine where Judkins would have been selected if he was draft eligible after his freshman year at Ole Miss? He’s still that same guy. Also, what kind of numbers would he have posted if he didn’t share with Henderson?

In an odd way, sharing with Henderson was good cause I do see positive reviews of how hard each play to block for the other and how they don't take plays off even on the times they aren't getting the ball. Another nice thing is less mileage on the legs. But yea, if Judkins' freshman year happened again, he'd have some serious buzz up top.

Meh, 22 games in the ivy league and a serious injury and wasn’t suppose to play a game year 1, hard pass in the 3rd when we needed day 1 impact. He was over drafted for our roster, but I understand his measurables.

Why do fans think 3rd round picks need to be Day 1 impact players? Have you paid any attention to how much 3rd round picks fail?

If Kiran becomes a good player in year 2 or 3 that’s a huge win. (Especially at OL which takes a while to develop)
