For me it depends on their eval of the current LT’s on the roster first.

yep.
What if they don't like Jones recovery progress and think Kiran is far away.
Campbell re-measures as combine differs from senior/hula bowl measurements and has 33+ arms and is there at 10.
Course if other teams did that, he would be gone already.

I still don’t accept a rb in first round especially with the talent there is rn for dl. Way too many game changers in this draft to go for a rb
I could be okay with Hampton at the end of the 1st.

I remember this time last year, I was arguing it was a bad idea to trade for the Haul, and get MHJ and Bowers cause we’d never utilize all those weapons. Now that we have one of the most brilliant offensive minds in the game and a top end QB prospect, it’s a bad idea.

How many weapons do the top offenses in the NFL have?

We have a pro bowl caliber WR, a young WR who should be a pro bowler, and a TE who is fringe top 10.

They dont need more receivers.

I understand a RB, thats a completely different conversation.

Yes but to his point this “mythical 2 TE” offense is not what drove Detroit’s high powered offense. They had 1 TE that got all the targets while the other was used only slightly more than Everett here. NE had that 2 TE offense with Hernandez & Gronk but Hernandez wasn’t used on the line and lined up in the slot and the players were 2 different types of TE’s. Smythe is a better player than Wright so I’m guessing they are fine with him being the #2 TE—since he likely leapfrogs TE #3 Odunze.
Why does no one even mention they traded hockenson mid season 1 year and they were fine. Bears do not need this 2TE insanity, and if they were to have drafted last year was the year to do it

I’m against adding weapons with our current roster. I’m just pointing out it was a bad idea last year, but there seemed to be a more positive vibe around the idea then. I still believe you get a lot of diminishing returns past 3 pass catching targets.

If they’re trading down to do that just to add more picks in a weak draft that’s meh. If they’re trading up for him so be it just as long as they don’t squander the 10th pick with a solid chance of getting a solid de/dt. That would be 3 years in a row passing on dl that would have been game changers for this team

Which top 10 offense has worse skill players than what the Bears have? I'm confused at the idea that the Bears are somehow set. Keep in mind teams like KC, Chargers, Dolphins, Texans, Cowboys aren't even top 10 and all have arguably better weapons than the Bears.

Are you all really forgetting the Bears were #32 in offense last season?

Top offenses all have 5-7 playmakers, here are the Bears top playmakers....

Caleb Williams, DeAndre Swift, Dj Moore, Rome Odunze, Olamide Zaccheaus, Cole Kmet

What top offense has worse playmakers??

I put the bulk of that on the OL which was probably the worst in the league. Add to it a rookie QB and terrible coaching/play calling. If you don't count the QB, the Bears had more offensive weapons, save for Kelce, than KC. Could you imagine Mahomes with DJM, Allen, and Odunze? KC functioned with a hodge podge of WRs. Mahomes and Reid would probably have made a star out of Kmet.

Why would the bears trade for a guy in a contract year……………..

Maybe because he’s 6’6”, weighs 250, and runs a 4.44 40. Who gives a shit if he’s in a contract year? If you have an opportunity to stack this kind of talent, you explore it. He’s basically a massive WR and a matchup nightmare. He’s 24 and not even scratching his ceiling. I don’t necessarily think they should do it but it cracks me reading about how many weapons can be utilized in a NFL offense. I guess the limit is three.

Maybe the Bears are so loaded with talent they should not look for ways to keep upgrading the offense.

I guarantee you Ben Johnson would figure it out.

What would be better, using 10 on Warren or 72 on Pitts? Warren will be 23 in May.

Mahomes is on an entirely different planet than Caleb so that alone makes it almost an unfair comparison. The shell of Kelce is still at least equal to Kmet. At WR the Bears have DJ Moore meanwhile KC lost so many to injury that it's again hard to compare but Rashee Rice was very good in 2023, Xavier Worthy had 6 TDs and almost as many yards as Odunze.

RB output is comparable with a healthy Pacheko. The difference ultimately was KC had an amazing Oline AND Mahomes. The Bears dont.

The amazing OL and a good DL is why Bears fans want to see more done in the trenches especially when you see what Philly did to KC having even better trenches. The Bears especially need a great OL because CW is so raw. Poles failed via building the team from the outside in and is now correcting that, er should I say BJ is now correcting the approach.

I feel the team needs another RB but I don't want to see that in the first. Outside of that, I really want to see the focus on the trenches. I also don't want to see Poles giving up more draft capital for expensive players causing future cap hell.
