Bears representing at Michigans pro day (no surprise).

Better bench day for Grant.

Looks like Grant is already rising… probably will be a serious consideration at 10

Grant isn’t a sexy pick, and you never know for sure with the draft, but that’s the type of DL that anchors a defense for a decade while the best RB’s burn out long before then. (Which is my main reason for not wanting a RB at 10 no matter how good)

I hope so. I would love the pick.

I’ll be honest, I would not hate picking Grant. His size and athleticism are unique. I want to keep building the trenches. I’m curious how the Bears have him slotted on their board.

Imagine Sweat, Grant, Dexter, and Dayo lining up together. That is a group of large, athletic guys. Being able to mix in Grady, Billings, and Booker is pretty damn interesting too. Dare I say it would start looking like a real NFL line with some depth.

Add in a second round DE (there’s several choices) and you are cooking with gas.

Keeps Grady fresh and on a snap count too

Carter
Graham
Membou
Harmon
Pearce
Banks
Grant
Nolen
Simmons
Green

These are the players I hope they’re considering. That or maybe a DB.

(Obligatory I hope they can trade down comment)

I’ve said it before-I think he will be a more impactful pro than Graham. He is crazy athletic for a guy his size. It may not be a sexy pick, but it would be a safe one that could yield huge dividends for the defense for many years.

Grant gives me Akiem Hicks vibes. He is a rare athlete who absolutely can anchor that line for many years.

Dexter, Billings, Jarrett and Grant all rotating in on the DL would be nasty.

I was looking at the stats for the top running backs the other day and they just don’t last as long anymore. But if you hit on an elite DL or OL then those guys play 10+ years for you. Just seems like the better long term decision IMO.

I want the Bears to find their version of a Fletcher Cox. A guy who plays 12 years with the same team

Billings isn’t exactly a super star. Maybe an average starter. Remember when he went down? That run defense was awful. No depth. I could’ve run for over a 100 against that run D.

Grant would be an elite run defender who also has insane pass rush upside. Then they would just have to keep an affordable NT on the roster as depth.

He would be a great pick.

I think the Bears want/need to win now if for anything but to shed their laughingstock image to investors to help in the new stadium process. IMO, there is a direct correlation between last years dismal performance, paying a HC 13mil/year, guaranteeing near 100mil in contracts this offseason and the new stadium.

They’ve spent big money before. I don’t think this offseason was unprecedented or anything. It’s just the time in the process where you got the ability, might as well do it

I hope the stadium has nothing to do with anything

I think it has and it's a welcome by product of that situation.
If anything, it forced their hands into spending big $$ on 5 new starters as they were woefully constructed coming into the year.
BJ is the paid for brains, Poles doesn't think and just executes the transactions and hopefully there is improvement.
I like what they've done so far and finally have some confidence that Ben will steer the ship in the right direction.

He would be the most plug and play starter we could take there. Everyone else we could take, online or dline, could easily start the season on the bench.
Edge and DT would get a lot of early reps, as would Warren. LT might as well depending on Jones. What's great here is that none of these are glaring needs and keeps the board open, Makes other teams less desperate to jump you and allows more trade down opportunities. This offseason was a great prelude to the draft.

Same like pace when hired yap about building through the draft. Team still blows 3 years later and get desperate so start spending in fa.
