the whole Piccolo thing really hurt his respect with bears imo if he don't take what the bears give him than I think he will get tagged then gone in 2017

Tag would probably cost close to what a 3 year deal would be.

If the Bears can reach a deal with Jeffery, I wouldn't mind franchising Forte. I'd imagine there'd be a holdout, but I think that'd give them more time to see if Langford can be the guy. Plus, if you get rid of Forte, you're probably going to have to add 1 maybe 2 more RBs at some point next year. Carey is barely hanging onto a roster spot, and is frequently inactive when everyone is healthy. Rodgers is a FA. Perry is out for the year and has 0 NFL carries.

It looks to me like he has been stronger than ever so far this year. He's been absorbing contact and moving forward, sometimes pulling 2-3 guys for a few extra yards, which is not really something he's done in the past. I would hate to lose this guy, one of my favorite Bears.

To all the Forte trade supporters you are fucking idiots. Cutler's pass doesn't get caught to your precious Langford or anyone else. Pay the man.

3 years 20 million...8.5 guaranteed.

(nothing guaranteed after year two)

I really like this deal. Forte is going to breakdown at some point. It's inevitable. However, his playing style and condition should in theory, lessen the blow of his descent. If things go well, he has 2 more years of elite play and would be well worth the money. If things go south, we can get out after the 2nd year and with only 8.5 gtd, we should get our money's worth.

Yep, would be great if they agreed on something like that.

I think Forte will want a little more than that. I would go up to 10 mil gtd with the ability to cut him after the 2nd year.

Honestly, I think he has 1 more great year in him and 1-2 solid/productive years left. Unfortunately, RBs decline is very sudden. You could look elite one season and the very next look pedestrian. I'm comfortable giving him 2 years with gtd money, though as long as it doesn't exceed 10-12 mil absolute tops in GTD money.
