Speaking as someone who has never gone, but I dont think it is that popular because in order to go you need to buy a two night stay at the hotel they hold it at. Then only AFTER you have reservations can you purchase the $75 day passes. I think I have that all right. Someone feel free to correct me if I'am wrong. But that is my understanding of it. Total rip off.

I'm a Sox fan that has 7 jerseys, a million hats, I go to 3 to 15 games a year and have never been to a Soxfest... Its a bunch of fluff.

It's actually quite popular. They do about 90% of what the Cubs do attendance wise.

I've been once but won't go again.

And you can get day passes without hotel stays.

I was about to say, if you weren't able to get a pass without the hotel snag, it's even more of a ripoff than Cubs Con is.

I'd imagine getting a shot at seeing a legend or one of your favorite players might be worth it. Like maybe if Frank Thomas came around and did an all-day autograph session or something. That would suck for Frank and his wrists though.
