As previously stated Brisker played against KC and played well. The Bears had 2 practices between games because of the tight turn around traveling to Seattle for Thursday night. Brisker didn't participate in either practice, so the injury probably happened in the KC game.

Roquan said in his presser the Bears haven’t fined him. Personally, I’m glad to see him practicing as it says a lot about his professionalism.

It’s sounds like he and the team had different numbers in mind and how that came out left him feeling disrespected (i.e. no agent filtering statements on his value came across as cold business dealings).

Can’t fault him for setting his value high as a players career means limited earning potential. But we’re still left guessing how high he was aiming and how high the Bears offer went.

If he balls out the Bears still have control. Can re-sign him, franchise him, or say bye bye. Their choice.

Ok Capt Obvious.

Honestly the only thing bad about this is it gives the media a year to **** about “distasteful”negotiations and dumb fans will worry that now players won’t want to sign with the Bears next year.

If he starts the season off strong then would expect a deal before season over so they can apply some of it to this years cap.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Indiana Hoosiers
  2. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
What intrigued me was when Roquan seems ok and even open to being tagged, he then said that that tag would be the right price for him, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the franchise tag the average of the top 5 at that position.

Yeah his comments definitely made it sound like Bears offer was low as franchise tag would actually fall below the 20m a year. Whether that is him playing things up for the media who knows.

So Quan basically sat out long enough to make his point but returning in time to get ready for season. So alll just a negotiating ploy. Bears fans will go back to loving him now.
I mean, if he makes plays and lights it up, why not? He wasn't waving his wiener at 24 women or anything.

I have no problem with the way the team handled it. They kept their cool and were firm but not confrontational after he publicly asked for a trade. They always had the leverage and they knew he would have to fold eventually.

I straight up hate capitalism but I still don't get the whole "billionaire owner vs blue collar player" narrative. Maybe pro athletes were wage slaves before the era of free agency but they are part of the labor aristocracy now and I don't have much sympathy for them in terms of compensation.

The owners are cockroaches and not entitled to a fucking thing in my opinion but whether we like it or not they kicked the NFLPA's ass in contract negotiations so they get most of the pie. Are they supposed to renegotiate the deal every time a prima donna player feels disrespected?

Perhaps they should should not:

1. Hide the effects of head injuries as players go crazy and harm themselves and others.

2. Deny said players medical coverage as their physical and mental health spirals out of control.

3. Further deny black players' medical claims on grounds they are naturally dumber than white players.

4. Come down hard on players while giving owners a pass for tanking, sex scandals and enabling their players to sexually assault 30 women.

Probably a few more but that's a good start. I also dont think wanting to get paid in exchange for cutting 10-15 years off your lifespan is being a primma donna. Many of the owners have generational wealth that they did not have to work for and will live long lives. Virginia has outlived many a Bears great because she is relaxing in the skyboy while players kill themselves for their and her enrichment.

So if Quan wants to shit all over the Bears to get a deal that sets himself up for a fraction of the generational wealth that Viriginia inherited in exchange for likely dying in his 60s if not earlier then so be it.

I already said the owners are cockroaches so not sure why you feel the need to convince me they are evil.

Sorry but I give a lot more fucks about grocery baggers with no health insurance of any kind then I do about NFL players.

If you really believe they are killing themselves for your entertainment then it would be a lot cleaner to stop watching football than keep posturing about paying them more. They understand - better than you apparently - that it can't happen while the salary cap exists.

You made your point like 50 posts ago and the world won't stop spinning if someone else sees it differently without you wearing them down by attrition.

You said you didnt understand the narrative as to why someone sides with the players and I explained why. If I made my point 50 posts ago then not sure why you still dont understand. It is not that confusing a concept.

It is not for me to decide whether they should kill themselves for money. They will do so with or without my support.

It is not a belief. Their life expectancy is like 60 years compared to like 77 for gen pop. Biggest cause of death is heart disease because the human body isnt designed to carry 300 pounds at 6-2 and hit other 300 pound guys for 60 minutes.
