Well here it is. League-wide happenings thread. Signings, trades, small news items.

OT threads of their own are still good. Yerp.

We need to do something this off season. As it stands right now, with teams like the Spurs and Celtics aging, we hold the best hope in beating the heat. The thunder would just get shit on again, the Knicks aren't good enough, Memphis isn't good enough, Denver isn't good enough, Brooklyn isn't good enough. Maybe the Pacers but I don't think they have the scoring they need to win despite taking them to 7. We're the only team standing in the way boys :troll:

http://www.sheridanhoops.com/2013/06/22/rondo-f-bombed-rivers-two-almost-fought/

One piece of information that has not come out during the alive/dead/alive/dead Celtics-Clippers trade talks is Rivers’ motivation in wanting to leave the Celtics.

It isn’t just that he doesn’t want to be a part of a rebuilding situation; it is because he has an intense dislike for point guard Rajon Rondo.

A source close to the Celtics tells Chris Sheridan of SheridanHoops.com that Rondo droopped an F-bomb on Rivers in the locker room during a team meeting, and Rivers went after Rondo and tried to fight him before the fracas was broken up.

First there were talks about Ray Allen not liking Rondo as one of his reasons for leaving Boston.... now Doc gets into it with Rondo.

Of course, this is just a rumor right now.... but I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. Rondo is very easy to dislike and he's been called "moody" and "stubborn" by his teammates and coaches in the past.

Didn't he have a lot of problems at Kentucky?

He didn't get along with Tubby Smith. Idk how bad the issues were bad though. I just read they didn't get along. He also clashed with his HS coach.

---------

These are probably things people have heard about Rondo:

According to multiple sources, Rondo’s errors were being pointed out when he arose and began discussing the mistakes of his teammates. Loudly. Using harsh language. Coach Doc Rivers got up and fired back, and Rondo threw a bottle that shattered the video screen. He bolted from the practice facility and was prevented from returning when he tried later.

Two seasons ago, before the banners and the plaudits and applause, when Rondo was in charge of a team that won just 24 games, he'd throw a no-look bullet and when it was dropped out of bounds he'd roll his eyes in exasperation. If he set up a shooter for the open jumper and it clanged off the rim, the shooter was subjected to the Rondo stare, a look steeped in disdain and aggravation. Rivers hauled his supposed floor leader into his office and asked him, "Do you know your teammates hate playing with you?"

"The point guard has to be the guy that brings energy to the team," Rivers chided him. "You can't be the guy that sucks it away. Your moodiness is affecting us. Change it."

If those things are true about Rondo, then shouldn't Boston try to move Rondo instead of a guy who coached them to a ring....I mean, who does Boston have in mind to replace Rivers if he does leave
