Why are you playing with the words right now all of you?

If the 90s bulls were the only team you can call special then the 2012 bulls are not something near that.If by special you mean a championship caliber team without so much superstar power then of course they are.

When I think of "special," I think of our 90s Bulls squads, some of the best the NBA have ever seen. The Showtime Lakers, the 80s Celtics, the 69'-70' Knicks... etc, those are teams that are truly special to me. Teams that NBA fans will never forget, not just fans of the team. I don't think anyone is disagreeing that our Bulls squad is awesome. I just can't put them in the conversation of them being "special." Hopefully we'll have a chance to do so this year.

Arguing over subjective words like "special" is asinine anyway. I am a fan of the team and they were "special" to me when they were the worst team in the NBA and Brent Barry was their best player.

I would be very surprised if Wade's comments has that much of an effect.

But its interesting that people vilify Lebron and not Wade. Wade is the one who unnecessarily sought to do damage against the Bulls. The only one who doesn't believe that he was disingenuous that summer was KC Johnson, who believed Wade would have picked Chicago if Lebron and Bosh didn't go to Miami.

Its only been 2 seasons since the decision. Too early to tell.

Lets look at what happened so far....

Bulls talked to David Lee and Carlos Boozer (weren't interested in Amare) they decided on Boozer. Is there any doubt Lee would have come here given the opportunity? Charles Barkley and Karl Malone wasn't available for obvious reasons and Bosh was in Miami. The Bulls pursued the best and got the players they wanted after it was obvious the Miami thing was set up from the beginning.

Also the Bulls were supposed to get Joe Johnson. The Bulls were his first choice...and it was pretty much set in stone before the postseason ended. However, the Hawks chose to be mediocre for the next 5 years and keep him. I still can't believe I had to argue with people who thought Ben Gordon was better than Joe Johnson. Just sad.

They have pretty much locked themselves in, but the Bulls have been aggressive for years now.

I agree Wade fooled the Bulls and he laughed when they asked him for a commitment I knew he was trying to screw them when I heard the news about him talking with Reinsdorf and the rest about joining the Bulls it was BS from the beginning F*CK HIM!

This. It's hard to hold it against a player for staying with the team who drafted him but Wade seemed to know along what his intent was- get as many of his buddies to play alongside of and hinder rival teams in the process.

If Wade went to the Bulls, LeBron would either still be a Cav or a Knick/Net. The Heat would be the worst team in the NBA. Bosh would be who-knows-where.

The Bulls probably would be dominating the NBA right now if Wade had come here. I was hoping and praying for 5 years that he would come here when he became a free agent in 2010.

Howard is all about his branding, I guess. Or else he really thinks he can win one as the man and not in Rose's shadow for both of their careers. Good luck with that.

STFU you Special person. I was still following this team when they were trotting out the likes of Bryce Drew, Hersey Hawkins, Corey Benjamin, AJ Guyton, Michael Ruffin etc. Everyone here who went to see the team play live in that era raise your hands? Anyone? Oh yeah. I did.

Only if he signs an extension. We have the deepest team in the league by far and the only bench player we would lose is Asik. How do you not make that trade?

Deng has been great the last few years but with his current injury and past history I worry he might be morphing back into the old Deng.

Make that happen and I guess I just have to change my name to Dwight Defense Force.

Sure, maybe we can win a championship leaving the team as it is. But I guarantee we won't be winning multiple championships and be a dynasty.

Most likely, we are like the mid 2000s Detroit and we win the division every year, make the conference finals most of the time, and win 1, maybe 2 championships. Or we are Portland and Sacramento of the early 00s or the Knicks of the 90s and we are a top 3 team every year and never win a championship.

Getting Howard without giving up any bench players probably makes us a dynasty.

But, this is reality and you know this ain't happening.

1. Howard says he doesn't want to play for Bulls.

2. Probably wouldn't sign extension.

3. PaxGar won't trade Deng under any circumstance. Even if they're offered Basketball Jesus.

Totally disagree...I believe they would do that in a minute. It would be much easier to find a replacement for Deng than to find a Dwight Howard. Deng is far from untouchable.

Rumors are that Orlando has been offered EVERYBODY BUT ROSE for Howard. That is why they want to deal with Chicago so badly.

Of course you watched that era. You LOVE watching the Bulls' lose.
Wrong.

I watched that era becaue I love the Bulls.

LOL at you defending this Bulls team as being "special" when so far they have basically been the 1990's version of the NYK's. Great in the regular season...kicked out of the playoffs by another team.

Da **** you talkin' about, son?
Zack said you live out in LA or some shit.

Blame him *****.

If the 90s bulls were the only team you can call special
No one said that.

STFU.

Not really what happened here.

1. Amare had no interest in the Bulls either. He signed in NY right away IIRC.

2. The Bulls first choice was Bosh. Once Bosh made it clear he was going to Miami the Bulls turned to Boozer. Boozer was the second choice to Bosh here.

Don't forget Chicago wasn't even Boozer's first choice. Boozer wanted to go to Miami..hence the Boozer asshurt over Miami signing Bosh and the little comment war he had last year over it.

Deng is far from untouchable.

He should be far from it...but who knows if he really is.

You are right about that...I was just too lazy to write all of that. But they did interview Bosh first as well they should have. Until the rise of Love, I thought Bosh was the best PF in the league at that point.

He should be far from it...but who knows if he really is.

I don't think he is untouchable...especially for a player like Howard. Thibs loves him but he probably salivates when thinking about coaching Howard.
