OT - CHGO fires 5 the week before Christmas

Will D was/is pretty high up in the company as far as marketing goes, is he still there? If not, Will and Nick should restart their YouTube channel though probably can't call it Chicago Audible and they will do alright. They were a little corny/dorky, but they did real reporting without all the Braggs/Carm over the top drama action

He's got a legit degree in journalism from Iowa and out of everybody there at CHGO covering the Bears he's done the least meatbally work.

The whole online civil war over the QB position over the off-season was wildly ugly and CHGO fanned the flames of it for the gain of their own business.

Nick played no part in that IMO and provided good insight into the team and got let go a week before Christmas.

I'll say this - I'm actively looking forward to the platform to fail and want nothing but success for Moreano.

The root of fandom comes from the shared interest of seeing the team succeed - people have different values and lived experiences so they see things differently and it causes lots of long-term stupid grudges.

But looking through the thread and seeing that they laid off several members tells me they aren't a thriving business - so you might get your wish.

CHGO is pretty terrible. Their business people have no idea what they are doing. They make like 20 hours of content throughout the week, which, I don't even know how that's possible to talk about a team for that long without running out of things to say.

Will DeWitt and Nick had CHGO buy their Chicago Audible podcast to start with a bunch of viewers. Nick stayed as a reporter and Will is the marketing and tech guy behind the scenes. Not sure if Will is still with them, but he moved from on air personality to manager of more than just their CHGO branch. Crazy thing either way

I've worked for a few Fortune 500 companies, working for a Fortune 100 rn they couldn't give a flip if I croaked at work they would probably step over my body I always laugh to myself when I see the youngblood who are pro company and think they actually give a chit about you, they'll lower the flag possibly to half staff for a day and then keep right on cranking.

Been self employed my whole life. There’s definite drawbacks to it but from everything people say about the corporate world I am glad I’m not in it.
