Good thing about a Mims trade is that you don't have to necessarily give a 2022 draft pick because he's on his rookie deal for 3 more seasons. He's also not such a loss for the Jets that they need the immediate picks to replace him or his position on the roster. It's not like the Anthony Miller deal where you wouldn't want to give up a pick after the player would be a FA. The Jets could maybe get a 2022 5th or 6th for Mims, or the Bears could potentially give up a higher pick in 2023 and make it conditional.

I’d move a mid rounder and Wims. I liked this guy. Sticky hands and a hard worker. Letting him season a year behind AR212 and marinating with Mooney would be a recipe for success for him.

So, flip a mid round pick and Wims for Mims and a conditional 6th.
The team that knows him best, and that will look bad getting rid of him is willing to get rid of him and you want to send a player AND a pick. A mid-rounder?

Why? Because someone used a 2nd on him he is presumed good? Isn’t that very team telling us the opposite?

Not a bad idea. Wilson could use a mentor like Foles. And Mims could use a mentor like ARob.
Only problem is Foles will apparently cry his little eyes out if he gets traded to a team he doesn’t want to go to and effectively kill the trade.

He is the only Bear I can think of in recent history that I just hate having on the roster. Most expensive 3rd string cancer in the league. Fuck Nick Foles!!

Word is Elijah Moore is a flat out stud but I’m surprised they would move on from Mims this early in his career.
I've heard the same about how E.Moore has looked in camp but Mims is an outside WR and Moore is a slot which is where IMO they have one of the best slots in the league with J.Crowder. This is the last year on Crowder's deal though.

No brainer if you can get him. Averaged 15.5 YPR and probably needs a mentor like ARob that can help him refine his route running. If you are eventually moving on from ARob then no better replacement as his ceiling is ARob with deep speed. Fields would love this guy if he got his head on straight.
If playing with ARob improves a wide receivers route running why did we have to get rid of Anthony Miller who was terrible at route running? ARob is neither a coach nor a magician.

Read he isn't a fit in their new system

Buy low

Too bad we don't have many picks left to offer.

Plus...with all the camp hype articles about our wr; we suddenly seem to be 9 deep at that spot!
In other words, we have good wide receivers and we don’t have picks and you want to send picks for another wide receiver whose team doesn’t want him even while he’s cheap.

1) being the tallest midget doesn't mean you have a group of tall people; let's see what these guys do that are hyped camp no names (to me the top 4 are pretty clear cut....the next 2 + ps options are wide open)

2) there isn't much signed after this year so if mims is thought of as a future piece its worth exploring

3) he likely was going to take time to develop....he's has 1 season and 1 week of a normal camp

4) it might make sense to explore a package of players (ridley/wims/foles) that might fit or be of interest vs picks....or players and swap of picks if foles money is dumped

5) end of day; doubt pace gets involved

Nothing you said though has anything to do with what he did on the field. Again his production on a per game basis was slightly better than Mooney. Worrying about the logic of bad teams is dumb. All that matters is what the tape says about Mims and whether the Bears feel they can get the most out of him.

If playing with ARob improves a wide receivers route running why did we have to get rid of Anthony Miller who was terrible at route running? ARob is neither a coach nor a magician.

Probably because Miller was an arrogant douche. By this logic why draft Fields since Nagy couldn't develop Trubisky so must mean he cant develop Fields.

Of course in the real world different people respond differently. No one is claiming it is a sure thing. We are saying we believe it is worth the risk. It is fine if you disagree but your logic has nothing to do with football.

I recall him wanting the guy the eagles took and mims.

Claypool was just the guy he wanted when all the top guys were gone.

Either way, both guys he liked suck. Thank god that Remy guy ain't our gm! He's legit AL Davis. You run fast and are tall and he falls in love with you.

I’m going to double down and say I’d throw in Foles as well! I’d give them Wims, Foles, and a mid-rounder for Mims.

The guys is raw lighting and not what the Jets wanted. They got that with Moore this year: a solid receiver with good hands that runs great routes. Mims was a dynamic playmaker with great hands who doesn’t have a clue about the technical aspects of the game. Despite that, he would take over a D that was trying to shut him down.

As I said, get him. Let him run a three route tree, Go, Flag, Post; let him develop with AR and Mims, and he would have the potential to be a better pickup than whoever we’d draft with that pick next year.

He was not the start right away dynamo the Jets needed then nor need now. He is what we need, though, especially if AR walks.

Please read my comment about the trade a bit after this post.

I kind of liked him too. Good thing I am not the GM either, I guess.

Again his per game average last year was slightly better than Mooney and that was with him being a terrible route runner.

He would have exceeded Mooney's production if he played a full year.

Will Foles allow it? With Foles salary, he'll need to start somewhere so either lead a rookie or a team that lost their starter. Jets and Colts are still the best options.

Will Foles allow it...........depends if he is happy sitting for a full year without ever dressing for a game unless there is an injury and still be second string, or going to a Jet team and being an injury away from starting.

Right now Colts say they are not in the market for a QB.

Foles somehow still believes that he should he starting. He will most likely only go to a team that he has a realistic shot of starting.
