Like most places, die hards love it, the casual fan will go to a game if their is nothing else to do that night or they get a free ticket. And then like everywhere you have the haters who wont support it.

The reason we lost our last AHL franchise was because the owners were embezzling money. The fan numbers were fine. I think in their final year the averaged 7500 a game. For most AHL franchises they would take that number no problem. The ownership group was outta Dallas, they really didnt give a **** about DM. We need a local group willing to buy a team, that is the problem though no rich dudes in Des Moines want to bring a team here.

On behave of Des Moines I can say we would happily accept :lol:

I did hit up our arena, and ask them to do a preseason NHL game like they do in KC. We have a great facility it desperately needs a hockey team tough.

Not really do you know how well Washington supports its junior league teams in the Whl. Portland great place as well.

I think Toronto or Chicago would be more able to support 2 teams than Seattle.
