I think most rational people are pretty skeptical of his health. Roy was claiming 100% when he returned and signed with the Wolves, but that didn't last long.

Three Ohioans on the Heat now (James, Cole, Oden).

This is kind of like The Decision: Part II.

I wonder what took him so long to decide. Maybe he had to figure out which bench seats are the most comfortable. He will be spending a lot of time on them.

In all seriousness though, I'm not surprised he took his talents to south beach. The dude must be pushing 60; that's the spot to go retire.

The Miami Heat are the oldest looking team in the league. LeBron looks 39. Oden looks 59. Bosh looks 6,835,289.

And Greg Oden coasts his way to a championship...

Wasn't there someone who said the Heat signing Greg Oden guaranteed them a championship? Might be proven right by default lol.

and we're struggling to bring in the likes of camby and jaimson :/

but i doubt oden stays healthy...they'll probably preserve him till the playoffs like they did with miller tho so he'll at least be healthy enough to be a big body out there

Oden would bust up his knee going out for a hamburger. Big deal. This adds nothing to their lineup, because he won't be healthy when they need him. Having to figure out where, when, and how much to play him will be more of a distraction than a help to their team.

Oden hasn't played since 2009. If he can somehow stay healthy and give them any ounce of low post defense, this could end up working out pretty well.

Oden has stated that one of the main reasons he decided to go to to Miami is that Riley told him they weren't going to need him at the beginning of the season, meaning he won't be rushed through his rehab. If his time stays limited to around 20 minutes per night, he and Chris Andersen could provide a nice 4-5 combo off the bench for Miami. Not many NBA benches have that kind of rebounding and shot blocking ability coming in.

Yep. This is clearly the move that makes the 2x defending champions even more scary.

Seriously, panicking about Oden signing with the Heat is just... not logical. Yeah, the Heat may win the championship again but it certainly won't be because of Oden. Stop acting like he is the missing piece the Heat were desperately looking for.
If the Bulls had a, let's say 40% chance of beating Miami in the Playoffs without Oden, this number stays the same with him on the roster.
