“Detroit Lions: 64 years (updated to 65):

The Lions have been the poster for lost seasons throughout the history of the organization and with no Super Bowl appearances throughout their time, it’s one of the more historically woeful teams throughout all sports. With just three playoff appearances since 2000, the Lions had to watch their all-time leading passer – Matthew Stafford – win a Super Bowl elsewhere in 2021.”

You can clearly tell nc0gnet0 has never watched an iowa game if he thinks LaPorta was the best TE in the draft.

They got rid of a pro bowl TE to draft a soft slot TE who can't catch touchdowns and has trouble catching contested catches. Sounds like a sure fire probowler at TE to me!

Yeah i agree but more with the Campbell pick than the Gibbs pick. I think he has a chance of being pretty damn good and think the A.Kamara comp is good for him.
Kamara is an inch taller and 20lb heavier. Cohen weighed about the same as Gibbs but was a lot more stout at 3 inches shorter. I really liked Gibbs in this draft but as a mid 2nd round pick.

considering this board called Hutchinson the next Shea mac and Sewell a bust their is little doubt who is football stupid, even if this draft does not work out the Lions are still light years ahead of the Bears whether you want to admit it or not
I guess we'll find out.

I could understand late first even. Basically all 3 of the lions draft picks in the top 34 were taken 20 picks too high.

Could have had Jalen Carter and Christian Gonzalez/Nolan Smith....God bless that they didnt do that!

I never bet with people that have zero integrity.

Plus, any bet on LaPorta and Kmet would be tough to quantify because LaPorta couldn’t block you. They will be asked to do different things on their respective teams.

One distinct advantage the Lions’ passing game has is the benefit of playing a minimum of 9 games indoors each season. There are days when the wind is blowing 30 mph at Soldier Field.
And here come the excuses........

There was no doubt you would not understand intelligent context.

There’s no question in my mind LaPorta will not be as good in the NFL as Kmet. He’ll be hard pressed to have a season like Kmet had in ‘22.

Kmet caught 110 passes the last two seasons.

Also, LaPorta will most likely never score 7 TDs in any season.

What struck me was the comment that the LB was having trouble with the speed of the game. In OTA's! If OTA's are too fast for him, what the hell is he going to do when the games really start? I shudder to think.

Can you imagine instead of
Gibbs
Campbell
LaPorta

they could have (of) had :

DT Carter
Edge W Mac Donald
OG Torrence

or worse

RB Robinson
DT Kancey
OG Torrece
Love the (of) part of your post! Brilliant

On paper these picks look like a terrible use of assets but one never knows, we should probably hold off on the jokes

Shitty thing is that they are a pretty damn talented team on paper, until they prove they are good for a couple of years and win a couple playoff games, they will be trashed!

The lions could have the best fielded team but if they keep sending out Goff as the QB for that team, they will not win shit.

So, it’s all wasted time. They won’t be in position to draft a top tier QB bc they will always be around 500 or slightly better with this type of team but it’ll just be completely wasted.

Poles knows that winning anything requires a stud at QB and if Fields isn’t the guy, he’s out the Bears in great position to solve that issue next year and the bonus is that if Fields turns out to be the guy we all think he is (great QB) then we are well ahead of the curve and only need a few more key pieces to be a constant division winner and playoff contender

Which makes the draft picks even worse.

Everyone knew their major weakness was on the lines, or possibly CB....They had an opportunity to fix both their major holes but double dipped into luxury. It's what bad coaches and GM's do. I know because I've watched the bears do it plenty....

Concur

Are you hopeful for the bears this year making a run at the division?

I think it’s possible if they stay healthy at the premium positions and Fields balls out.

I think we are 3-4 players away on defense maybe 2 if a couple of people surprise us and 2-3 players on offense- center, one wr and maybe one te.

We aren’t that far away but I think we lack a couple blue chip type players. Hopefully one of Mooney amd claypool balls out and both if we are completely lucky but the odds aren’t great.

I want to be optimistic yet realistic too. The division is there for the taking but we have to beat gb, min or Detroit both times and it looks like gb may be that team. Minnesota looks to be in a decline and getting rid of their better players bc they realize their qb isn’t a winner.

Hopefully they surprise everyone!

Just generally speaking you were a lot more tolerable before and actually liked by some before this recent arc you are on. You’re trending toward the packer fans that occasionally post on here.
