OT: Odom gets standing-O in LA

I'm not trying to calling him a victim, just show he was disrespected the majority of his time here. And the majority of that was because his defense was bad. It's the exact same thing that's going on with Boozer & the fans. In both situations it does not seem warranted to me. BG was the leading scorer 2 years in a row & people couldn't believe that he would actually look to get paid more than almighty Capt. Kirk. Everyone wants security in their job. He got it with another team, so good for him, but I don't think that's selfish at all.

I always knew that Ben was better than Kirk, and that was being a Kirk fan as well. Anyone who thought Hinrich was worth more to the Bulls (as in worth a bigger contract) than Gordon must've been high...

BG also put us in a ton of holes. Sure, he had a lot of big games scoring the ball.. but there were also a lot of games where he couldn't stop whoever he was guarding, even if he was trying.. which he didn't do much of. Then there was his famous dribbling the ball all fancy and shit for 19 seconds in one spot and shoot a dumb 3 with someone right in his face.

And like I said earlier, it's easy to see why the Bulls wanted Deng more than they wanted Gordon. I don't think Deng is worth the money he got either, but he can help the team even when he's not scoring, like by playing defense, rebounding and actually hustling. If Gordon isn't scoring, he isn't doing anything else.

And the Bulls had something good going and Ben had a chance to be part of it. He instead chose to take a couple million more to play for our rivals. I don't miss him at all.

There was much more to it than that, as I stated above. And am I the only person who remembers Gar Foreman lying to the entire fanbase by saying "re-signing BG is a top priority this offseason" & then not even offering him a deal? Oh well.

I hate that I pulled myself back into these debates, but I was so happy when we traded Kirk so I could stop hearing about this "scrappiness" & "glue-guy" bullshit, when he was missing every open shot he took, & killing plays with his around the basket dribbles. It took Vinny putting him on the bench to get him to be a halfway decent player.

Anyway, enough with this BG talk, I'm a fan, but I'm glad we didn't sign him. That money saved helped us build the deepest team in the NBA & turned us into a championship contender, so it's all good.

deadline or no deadline, BG had the offer on the table and rejected it. then basically took the same kind of deal a year later with the pistons. Then Ben Gordon pulled that "I wanted to be here, but they didn't offer me anything" bullshit when we DID offer him something the year before.

I, for one, am glad he rejected that deal because I feel like we're better without him. He isn't making the pistons any better either, which is also a plus.

I agree, I'm happy he didn't sign here, but his comment about not offering him anything was about that year, not the previous, & he was 100% correct with that comment.

Anyway, no more BG talk. This is Rose's team & he will lead us to the promised land this season. I can't wait to be the only person who called it too.
