My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Minnesota United FC
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
There are around 20 teams in the NHL that wish they had the sustained "success" that the Sharks have had over the past 8 years.

At some point though, a franchise has to decide to take the next step.

I mean the Nuggets of the NBA fired an award-winning GM and COY in George Karl, knowing those guys weren't gonna put them over the top.

At some point, like Diehard said, a franchise has to quit spinning wheels and make progress.

Depends on how you define success. If you're happy with your team making the playoffs yearly but always getting handed an early exit in the tournament then the Sharks are right there for ya. Personally, I like my team playing in the Finals with winning the Cup being the only true definition of success. To me there's a HUGE difference between a good season and a successful season. So yes, if the Hawks get beat...regardless of all they've done...it still won't be a successful season.

Seeing as how he had only 17 minutes of penalties in 39 games this year and his playoff hit looked absolutely clean to me, I have no problem saying he might have learned his lesson.

So to you the hit looked clean but it obviously wasn't...hence the suspension.

suspensions in the NHL are garbage. I'm not disagreeing with either of you - but the 'law' is flakier in the NHL than it is in a small town where everyone's related.

I'm not saying I want Torres, but man, I wish we had just a bit of 'nasty' on this team...Right now the only instigator we have is 5'9'' Andrew Shaw.

Wholly overrated.

You realize they're two wins from the second title in three years, right?
