If he stays injury free, it's a steal. That's a big gamble though. I've always liked Bailey.

My favorite teams
Sweeney has a pretty solid OBP most years and Bailey is a proven closer obviously.
A's should have gotten some higher talent, but at the same time they're not really looking to compete till 2013-2014 anyway, they're not going to spend money till their lease is up in Oakland, similar to Loria in Florida until this offseason.

Always been a big Sweeney fan going back to his White Sox days. Reddick and Sweeney are very similar players imo.

They don't really have a choice because ownership are cheapskates and Beane can't afford to keep them.
