I'd argue that Creed is the greatest anti hero in the history of cinema. There is no Rocky II if Carl Weathers was not so great as Creed in I.

The brilliance of the character was he wasn’t the ‘villain’ or evil in any way. He was the heavyweight champion who Rocky had to get through. Respect given to each character by the other.
