Upon Sid's return, I would imagine Malkin's numbers will take a dip.

Crosby owes me big time this year after I wasted one of my draft picks on him. He better win me my league or else

If he stays healthy they are very scary. Malkin on that #1 line wont be broken up, and Staal on that 3rd line is rolling, so sid is most likely going to tyake over their 2nd line. If you can roll 3 centers like that they will be in great shape

there are some sleepers as well in the east. Philly being one of them.

I like how Tallon takes over the cats and they are contenders, cant wait to see how they are 2 years from now. im sure he learned a lesson from his cap shit in chicago, but he has done a fine job for that franchise.

Speaking of... how many more seasons til we can say letting Dale go was a mistake?

:dunno: I love Tallon but the deadline for contracts could have been his fault or he could have been set up, either way he should have known the deadline and he didnt. Tallon built the cup team and built the core we have right now on the ice. Seeing what he is doing in Florida makes me question why the puppet was put in charge. All GMs make mistakes, his was cap hit, he should have been let to fix the problem which I feel he could have. Tallons IQ for the game is in the now, and adjusts to the changes in the game from season to season, im not so sure scotty can adjust, i think hockey is passing him by, I say scotty because his son is just the messanger and Scotty makes the moves. Time will tell.

Yup, time will tell.

The shitty thing is that so much of what you read and hear on the subject is all rumor but it really starts to add up. The thought that the contract fuckups weren't his exact doing or that the whole atmosphere of the organization changed when he left (something Brian Campbell brought up earlier this year and the talk of a sour locker room that comes up whenever the team is on a losing streak). None of it has been proven either way but it's hard not to think about it when you have a team drop off as steep as this one has- salary cap issues be damned.

This year definitely isn't over but as it stands right now- Dale's team is trending up beyond anyone's expectations and Stan's team is trending downwards or at best, sitting idle... definitely below the expectations of fans and the hockey press at large.

Oh well. I suppose we should keep the "I'm not so sure about Bowman" talk in a thread that isn't about Crosby and the Penguins

the one thing we can all agree on is that no matter what happened or happens that we dont know about, there is one fact. tallon gave bowman a pretty solid core on a silver platter.

If you're going to give props to him for the core (rightly so), you must also include Smith and Pulford.

sure, but i dont think pulford had a lot to do with the everyday hockey shit. sounds like he was always out of the loop
