To win the SB.
He had a bad game against KC and actually not that bad. They were up 10 late. I think if he were still there with Shanahan he could win one.

Pre-massage scandal, in a vacuum, Watson is the most talented QB on that list, and by a good margin. However, he hasn't lived up to his past performance since joining the Browns, so it's hard to vote for him now. He has to show that he still has "it."

Of the remaining QBs, it's between Cousins and Goff. They're very similar QBs, and probably in the same tier. I'd give Cousins the edge though because he's historically been better than Goff. Last season, the Vikings had a pretty terrible defense, but they were able to win 13 games because of Cousins and that offense. Cousins regularly came up clutch and won close games for them last season, and even played very well in their playoff loss to the Giants. But their defense came up short. If you put Cousins on a team like the 49ers, there's no reason to believe he couldn't help win them a Super Bowl. Where as Goff has already been on very good teams with great coaching and still wasn't able to win a Super Bowl.

And lost. They have since let him go because he couldn't do it.
I don't think that's the case. I think they found better play by the other QB. And he was getting expensive. If Shanahan didn't have any other choice he could win with Jimmy G, as long as he's not sidelined with some injury.

Well, many on here expected a regression from him this year, so far it has not happened.
Plays his best when everything is going well. Top 5 OL, good to great weapons and a good defense.

Jimmy G is a slightly more intelligent Ridder

They also lost because he missed an easy TD late

So, like Brock Purdy?
Absolutely but I voted Goff because he at least has been to the Super Bowl. Purdy legit has EVERYTHING going for him

In Goff’s defense, he sucked in the SB massively.
But:

1. McVay admitted that he failed to adjust to the same defense the Lions used on them that year and that the Bears perfected on MNF.
2. Lost his best WR during the season, Kupp could have been the zone beater that they lacked.

However, when the opposing defense is mocking you on the sidelines and during the game—it’s simply not a good look. Pats were basically calling his game ending INT late. One could say they didn’t belong there because of an atrocious missed DPI vs the Saints. But I’ll stick with Goff.

Also, wasn't Goff in his third year?
Isn't JF in his third year?
But I am sure JF would ball out under similar circumstances.
Long story short, Goff is better than now then he was with the Rams.
