In guard Elgon Jenkins new contract there is an incentive in his contract for earning All-Pro honors at left tackle now it makes sense why his contract was so high.

Cutting David Bakhtiari saves Packers $5.9 million of cap space and they don't have to pay out his bonus.

I remember lots of people saying bears can't cut Whitehair to save 6ish million because he'd cost 8 million. How can GB cut baktiari to save 5 million when he'd still cost like 23 million?

They have different contracts click here for more details...

It would be nice to see them get a FA C and RT then draft Whitehairs replacement in the draft maybe round two.

Yeah, round 2 might be the best round, bang for buck, in this draft. The round value correlates well to WR & OL, both groups of which the first round is too rich for. Also, there are some great DL values there.

We could probably get the G from UConn in the 3rd who, imhop, could be a replacement at C or LG, Whitehair.

So, yeah, I agree with you in principle that replacing him with a day 2 pick would be good, but I’m leaning towards Leatherwood at LG, should Whitehair lose out or be unable to go.

This is the kind of dumb move Pace would have made. Older guy past his prime that is always injured. No thanks.

What's even more fucked up, about that upcoming cut, is that Bakhtiari was the first to congratulate him on Twitter... Straight dick move, by GB FO.

Maybe he can sign a 1year deal here as the backup to Jones. Could be a win-win. He gets to slowly heal and showcase for 2024 in limited time and Poles gets a capable vet to teach Jones and be an insurance policy. Only downside is if his knee doesn’t improve.

Because bhaktiari literally can’t play and has never recovered from his knee injury.

Now that whitehair is injured it makes sense to move on.

His knee is straight up kawhi status, he seems done.

True, it isn’t looking good. Probably correct. I guess we’ll see what his market looks like in May or so
