Greatest fucking guitarist of my generation and maybe just any generation

I've been in heated discussions (not really heated, more spirited debate) over Dime or Dave Mustaine. I'm a Dave Mustaine guy myself. Pantera was a way better band IMO but I thought Dave was a better guitar player.

Marty Friedman is better than Dave and Dimebag combined.

As for the bands, Slayer, no question.

"Walk".... Really?
Pantera is OK but that is the most repetitive, shitty song. Doesn't even have a good guitar solo.
Having seen all three live, Pantera x6, I go with Slayer for overall talent and tightness of live shows.

Slayer without a doubt. Stacked with more talent than either of the two bands combined.

Dave Lombardo made Lars Ulrich look like a chump. But when it came to crying in public, say about Napster, Ulrich was king. Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning were good. After that was just ZZZZZZZZZ... Maybe Cliff Burton's lack of influence changed the complexion? Who knows.

Rust in Piece put most bands in their place back then. I saw them in Chicago for either their RIP or Countdown tour. I forget which. Suicidal Tendencies opened for them that night.
