Cody Parkey says he’ll head to Soldier Field tonight to kick.

“It can’t hurt,” he said, downplaying it as simply an extra thing to add to his week of preparation.

The plan is for kicker Cody Parkey, holder Pat O’Donnell, long snapper Patrick Scales and ST coordinator Chris Tabor to carpool down to Soldier Field & practice there tonight & tomorrow. #Bears

“It’s the same practice, just change of venue,” Scales said. “I think it will help.”

Jesus, good idea. I used to commute from Wicker Park to Vernon Hills every day. (32 miles, 1-1.5 hours each way). Drove it for three years. If he's on the north shore, it's about the same distance (37.1 miles, I checked, 1 hour 22 minute commute right now at 3:45 PM. During the day, could be under an hour each way).

Lol @ the "commute" excuse.

Genuinely what the fuck else do Cody Parkey, Megapunt, or our LS have to do all week, other than practice snapping/holding/kicking/punting?

And why in the fuck wouldn't you want to practice it in the exact environment you will be doing it in on Sunday?

Maybe if you know you're kicking in a dome on Sunday, just spend the week doing it indoors....

These specialists already have almost nothing to do, they spend most of practices fucking around, they can afford a couple hours of "commuting" to Soldier Field.

Not only is Parkey incompetent at his job he is also lazy. I don't know what else Nagy and Pace need to see. Why isn't Nagy mandating that the kicker practice at Soldier Field on weeks when the Bears are playing there?

Parkey says he prides himself in not being like other kickers that show up to practice, get up a few kicks and dick around. Says he studies film and tries to do more beyond what's expected...

I'm thinking yeah he needs to scratch whatever he's doing and haul his ass to Soldier Field.
