Penn State will NOT appeal the NCAA's decision, I've been told. Speed of decision and lack of contention points to a deal betw NCAA and PSU.

Okay guys I have been working a lot lately and this news doesn't really appeal to me as I don't like college football all too much but what warranted such harsh punishment? From what I know as a passive follower, I know JoePa was a very likeable if not the most likeable coach in college sports until this scandal. What exactly did he do (or not do) to warrant such immense hate? Two, why is this off the field matter which doesn't even involve the players have to affect the whole university both players, students and people who work in the athletic department? I don't mean to be insensitive toward the victims and their families but this is simply ridicilous considering they are dismantling, from what I've gathered, one of the most historic and beloved football program in the country, because of a man (Sandusky) who wasn't directly involved in playing between the lines. I just feel bad for the students and players both past and present whose lives have been affected by those men's terrible mistake.

Official Punishment.....

NCAA imposes $60million fine on Penn State.

Penn State gets four year bowl ban,

vacates all wins from 1998-2011.....joe paterno's victory record is history.

5 Years of probation

loss of 10 total scholarships per year for 4 years

Players can transfer out without any penalty

NO Suspension of football Program

109 PSU/Paterno wins vacated....That knocks him below Eddie Robinson, Bobby Bowden, Bear Bryant, Pop Warner & Amos Alonzo Stagg

Paterno's new win count is 298. .... 12th all time.

No comparison to usc's ncaa sanctions. Penn state football has been crushed. Rival coaches already scrambling to get PSU players.
