C'mon Kaner, what you should be doin to the hoes, they doin to you. about the shiner, meh, w/e
^^^ dont bring up Stalberg please....now jntg will be in here trying to drop stalberg jokes and act like he created the joke...
What is the whole picture? There are 22 year old athletes doing this same stuff all over the place. The only reason that this is news is because it's Patrick Kane.
I would be more worried if he wasn't doing this.
cue the homers/casual fans to say "we cant trade him, he is sooooo good"
While not looking at the whole picture.
He is a point per game player.
And if you are talking about Miguel Cabrera then you need to pay closer attention to baseball. When Miggy was younger he took all sorts of plays off. The dude was one of the worst fielding regulars in the game. Now you are going to bring up the fact that he was young, and needed to develop his glove..... but what is Patty Kane?
Patty Kane will figure out how to make it look like he gives a shit soon enough.
Really? More worried if he wasnt a giant asshat?
Great, athletes doit, some can still come to the game prepared and ready to play. Example: Miggy. A well known drunk who still plays the game at a superior level and never takes time off even though his personal life is a bit fucked up.
Patrick Kane takes shifts off ALOT, and takes games off. I dont know how many hockey games you watch or have watched, but if you start watching a bit more you will notice it, especially when you are at the game and see everything the camera doesnt pick up. The hawks are gambling that he will grow out of this and be an elite player, my guess is he wont for quite sometime.
It isnt about picking up girls, it comes down to his drinking and his mysterious black eye that he got. There are too many red flags with him.
Miggy is a meh example. I will concede that both of them do get focused upon by their opposition as they game-plan to win, but I remember a series when Miggy was drunk with his Sox buddies and it resulted in an 0-11 series. Kinda important series, too, if I remember correctly.
Also, I hope you're not implying playing the "crucial and physical demanding" MLB 1st base position is similar to NHL right wing when said player is the littlest ***** on the ice and again, targeted as a key player to contain. Too very different worlds.
I can understand your sentiment that there are superstars in each league who make terrible personal choices or have destructive habits, but I don't think Miggy is the guy to hang your hat on.
I don't think this is a giant deal, due to offseason, but Kane is iffy in my book.
Comparing him to Miguel is just silly. Cabrera posts MVP seasons year after year after year. Kane is a top 30 type guy, not even in Miggy's league. So production does matter and you can ignore these type of things when the guy is a top 3 production athlete.
I also have to say that Kane, from the pictures, brings home some pretty average looking skanks. Did you see the pictures from Vancouver last year? I would jest with a college friend who brought home that type of shit, let alone a million dollar athlete. It's like Bill Clinton with Monica. Cmon man, you are the president... look at what Kennedy was bringing in.

Um, the guy is alot better than that.
The guy had more points than...
Thornton
Heatley
Nash
Backstrom (Caps)
Kovalchuk
Richards (Philly)
Hossa
Pavelski
Carter
Briere
Ryan
Those guys are pretty damn good.
Points again are very flawed when evaluating players. I can probably think of 30 players plus that I would love to have on my team over him.
comparing off the field situations now and past. When he was having issues as a youngster (miggy) he still showed up and put up monster numbers. PK is unable to do that, and as I have stated, PK may be at his ceiling IMO. Using the point per game average is such a flawed way of evaluating PK.
