The Patriots will cut Alfonzo Dennard. He is only 25 and was viewed as a potential late first, early second round pick in the 2012 draft, but dropped to due serious legal issues. With everybody saying the Bears need corner and safety help, should the Bears pick him up? Maybe just for depth purposes. Thoughts? Opinions?

Just posted this in the other thread too. I always thought he was pretty decent. He produces interceptions, even in the playoffs. He could easily battle Jennings for the number 2.

significantly better option for the Bears than "dumpster diving" the UDFAs CBs.....

No thanks I'd rather sign J.Barksdale with the cap space.

Why? He's clearly got a serious injury, wants a lot of $ and we just drafted a potential RT and signed Vladimir as well. If he were cheap with no guaranteed $ then by all means.

I've cooled on Barksdale....I don't think that he's a better option than Michael Ola or maybe another one of our current bench. His market is ice cold. he'd be lucky to get his old locker back.

Guys, the Patriots aren't exactly in great shape at CB. Actually, they are in pretty bad shape byt the looks of it.

So there simply has to be something wrong with this guy, since they're cutting him now. I mean, he was a possible starter! He's been rumoured to be a complete ass-clown earlier in his career, and his act might've worn thin on Belichick.

This just seems so suspicious to me, that I'd be very iffy if we signed this guy.

I think a lot of people are hesitant to sign ANY player that gets cuts by the Pats. It is just that Bill is such a good coach people automatically assume that if he doesn't want the player, something must be up.

That and he'll put up with bad guys as long as they're not too disruptive. Of course, it can also only take one wrong move to find his dog house. Without an 'event' this is probably just a general pain in the ass.

Pats were looking better in their secondary in the playoffs...I would look closer at him. Not for this team though. We are still paying Jennings too much money and have some young blood I think can thrive under superior coaching.

(I am becoming a big fan of Hurst)

"Members of the Patriots have routinely questioned his work ethic and commitment to the game, too."

Sounds great. Sign him!

Vladimir is far from a starter and Tayo isn't ready to start next year.

Belichick and NE rarely let guys go that have value. Additionally, Pace seems to want to foster a football first and only locker room, so I don't see this happening. Can anyone say...Brandon Meriweather.

Once again....This guy was in a deep deep "Doghouse" with Belicheat's Pats.....I suspect multiple issues.....character being one of them...attitude being another......the guy might have some talent but he's gonna have to get his head straight if he wants to continue playing football.....

Let's see what Pace does......or doesn't do.
