I think Paul Konerko will get in. Surprised that Quentin was selected by the players but Paul was not, but they have set rules on the reserve spots I guess.

Paul is leading early in the voting according to MLB.com.

seriously if konerko doesnt get in..they need to fix this voting shit

no way he shouldnt be an all star imo

there are so many players every year that shouldnt be there. fan voting blows.

And don't forget the fact that Fox and ESPN have to have their requisite five Yankees and Red Sox.

Teixiera is a better defender but Konerko is hitting the tar out of the ball so I think Konerko is a much bigger snub.

Not really. If they take two per position he shouldn't have made it over A-Gon and Miggy.

There is no real reason Paulie should have made the AS team the first go around.

I would probably vote for him of the final five though Gordon and Zobrist definitely deserve consideration.

Regardless the biggest snub (and it's not close) is Andrew McCutchen.

I don't even understand how McCutchen wasn't part of the Final Vote.

his offensive numbers are insane....a-gon is better and he shouldnt be a starter but no way in hell should he not be included in the all star game...its not like his defense is a liability or he is really one dimensional..mccutchen didnt make it? damn..thats a pretty bad snub:shifty:

he does play on the pirates..so he is not a really popular market player

i think these snubs are telling us we need to stop fan voting or atleast minimize it's impact in some way

It doesn't really matter how good he hits though.

If you are the third best player in the league, but both of those players above you are playing your position and the team is only taking two should you make the team then?

You can't look at him compared to all players you have to look at him compared to his position and his position alone when talking the original team.

For the final vote, well that's something different. I mean who should he have made it over? I would assume they took three catchers because they needed a member of the Orioles. Same with four OF'ers with taking a member of the Twins.

So basically he has to make it over Miggy and he doesn't deserve to be there over Miggy. Miggy has him by 54 points of OBP while only giving two points of slugging.

Paulie no matter what White Sox fans will tell you was not a snub.

When a player that doesnt deserve to go (CQ) goes before Konerko with the possibilty of CQ being the only rep by rule for the sox leaving a vote for konerko to get in, would be considered a snub.

How the second best offensive player in the NL doesn't make it is well embarassing.

And hell other than Victorino the NL five aren't even impressive.

Wow I didn't even notice Alexei wasn't taken. That IMO is a bigger snub than Konerko is. Though I think Peralta is a big snub as well, Jeter making it is a joke. And Quintin and Konerko are IMO in the same boat. Hell I guess Alexei is too. All are probably the third best player at their position so far this year.

I think CQ was voted in by the players though. I am sure if he wouldn't have Konerko would have been taken.

I guess they did away with the "super-sub" requirement this year? Otherwise I don't see how Ben Zobrist would've been snubbed.

I added a Paul Konerko lobby post to our Cubs facebook page. He definitely deserves it, especially since no other Cub besides Castro is making it into the game barring a disaster anyway

Im not clear on the *** ass rules of the player voting shit, players voting in CQ is Special person. maybe it has something to do with how many are at the position already or whatever.

Derek Fucking Jeter................what a joke.

The all star game shouldnt even count for the home field BS with these dumb ass teams being put together by the fans.

Players vote on the ASG, if the top player is on the fans ballot as number one they take number two. If the top palyer isn't then that player gets in.

So the players must have thought he was second (because no way they picked him over Bautista).

I personally think you could make a better case for CQ being a top two RF than you can Konerko a top two 1B.
