Watch them cut a lot of defense. Floyd, Trevathan, Prince...

Trevathan’s contract is up so he won’t be cut, just not. Re-signed. But both of those move would make sense. I would rather see them then restructure Floyd rather than open another hole.

My confidence in Pace is at an all time low. This quote could be referring to ST guys and back ups, which in that case who cares.

But if it's referring to starters, especially on the defense, that is a bit concerning. I think Pace is going to have a hard time attracting people to Chicago in FA unless he overpays them. Everybody in the NFL saw how Trubisky/Nagy looked last season, not exactly an image that makes you want to come to Chicago in pursuit of playoff hopes and Super Bowl dreams.

Floyd
Prince
Not So Turbo
Cordarelle
Cohen
Shaheen
O'Donnell
Braunecker

Bears cap is at $51,000,000 per Spotrac's cut toy.

Plenty of room for Pace to sign shitty contracts and **** this franchise for the next GM.

Agree with all except Patterson. Unless everyone wants our ST to blow ass again like it did in 2018.

Here is how you get to 47 million

14 Million

-1.4 Cohen

Leonard Floyd

Old Money: 1 year 13.25 million
New Money: 4 years 36 million/10.75 guaranteed [Donta Hightower]
Total Deal: 5 years 49.35 million/24 guaranteed/12 SB

Year 1: 4.75 GS/2 SB [6.75]
Year 2: 5.75/2 SB [7.75]
Year 3: 5 Salary/2.5 RB/2 SB [9.5]
Year 4: 8.75 salary/1 RB/2 SB [11.75]
Year 5: 11.5 salary/2 SB [13.5]

Allen Robinson

Total Deal: 5 years 83.5 million/54 guaranteed/20 SB

Khalil Mack

Convert 7 million of his salary in 2020 to signing bonus and re do his deal to comply with the 30% rule.
He only has 1 year left of guaranteed salary at 13 million this would guarantee 2 years at 18.5.

He just signed an extension last year. Maybe extend ar and hicks?

Is he going into his 2nd or 3rd year on this contract? Run stuffing DT's arent exactly difficult to find, I like Goldman but he could find similar especially since Goldman's pass rushing isn't spectacular.

@WindyCity What about extending Patterson to make his hit less? Add another year? Possible?

1. He was extended last offseason and has a massive cap hit to cut.

2. He is good

not 100% but Goldman going into year two of his new deal and not sure where the cut point is in his contract. It never seemed as obvious of a cut year like the contracts given to players pace gets in free agency

You are always going to see a good number of roster cuts after a disappointing season. Completely natural.

I just can't see cutting Cohen. He is a quick twitch athlete. Certainly stepped back this season but cutting him would definitely be selling low.

Floyd is the biggest question mark to me. I have a feeling they keep him and hope to draft a replacement. We need CB, OL and TE help, all these positions need upgrading more than Floyd.

I just cant see cutting floyd....he needs to be restructured

If hes cut that opens a TON of holes on defense

Olb

Ilb

Starting corner
Starting safety

Way too much to fill in one offseason with limited high draft picks.
