Krause started with Michael Jordan, the greatest player ever.
Outside of the trade for Pippen, drafting of Horace Grant, BJ Armstrong, and Toni Kukoc his draft track record is awful. Had a huge obsession with drafting a PF in every draft from 1990-1998.
He acquired nice filler guys to fill around Jordan and Pippen, Paxson can do that too.
Took a risk on Rodman, but only because Jordan/Pippen said they could contain Rodman.
After the dynasty broke up, drafted the following: Elton Brand, Ron Artest, Marcus Fizer, Jamal Crawford, Eddy Curry (Traded for Tyson Chandler with Elton Brand), and Jay Williams.
Signed zero notable free agents.
Coaches: Stan Albeck (1 season), Doug Collins (3 seasons), Phil Jackson (9 seasons), Tim Floyd (2.5 seasons), Bill Cartwright (1.5 seasons)
-----
Paxson started with a bunch of Krause's discombobulated team.
Proceeded to draft: Kirk Hinrich, Ben Gordon (trade for Luol Deng), Tyrus Thomas, Thabo Sefolosha, Joakim Noah, Derrick Rose, James Johnson, Taj Gibson, Jimmy Butler, Marquis Teague, Tony Snell, Niko Mirotic, and Doug McDermott.
Has made no notable trade outside of trading away LaMarcus Aldridge for Tyrus Thomas (ouch).
Signed Ben Wallace, Carlos Boozer, and Pau Gasol as notable free agents.
Coaches: Scott Skiles (3.5 season), Vinny Del Negro (2 seasons), Tom Thibodeau (4 seasons)
If anything, I'd say they're damn similar. Paxson just doesn't have the benefit of starting with the greatest player in the world.
