That's three straight 100+ games by Jefferey tying a Bears record. He went beast mode last night after some early game drops. As I was watching it, all I could think of was we need to pay the man. Then I started thinking that he didn't really do much of anything until Verett went out of the game. So is he worth a huge contract or not?

My personal opinion, it looked like it wasn't until the pick six that Jefferey got his "head in the game" so to speak. He was emotional after catches, going hard after his catches. So would it have mattered if Verett doesn't get hurt?

i don't think we can afford to let him walk. Assuming White comes in health next year and is what we expected him to be, we could have an amazing duo of wide receivers. Now the hard part is, do we sacrifice a new contract for Forte in order to sign Jefferey? After watching Langford last night, Bears have some tough decisions to make.

I saw the same thing as you. As soon as that young CB out muscled Jeffery redirecting him on his route and int the ball, Jeffery got pissed and started playing more physical. If he could play with that type of effort every down he would be a top 5 WR

Jeffery is a top 5 receiver, he made a couple drops. It happens. I remember watching guys like Randy Moss and Terrell Owens struggle some games way worse then the night Jeffery had last night. He is a big target with great blocking and some real talented hands. I too also liked his physicality last night once he got out muscled by Verrett, which was an obvious pass interference call, of course we didn't get it, he looked like he was on a mission. Pay the man, if the Bears are even remotely thinking Forte vs. Jeffery for a contract they are dumb as a box of rocks. Jeffery's young and in the prime of his carreer. It's way easier to find a young RB in the draft to start day 1 compared to a wideout. And with Langford/Carey playing pretty well we might not even have to look to the draft. Not to mention Antoine is a good runner if they get him into the mix we are just fine without Forte, I'll miss him but it'd be dumb to let Jeffery walk over him.

We'll have plenty of cap space so I'd just pay him. How easy will it be to find someone at the same level? Especially when we need to focus drafting on defence next year.

I texted a friend who is a Chargers fan last night during the game and said both teams could just draft all defensive next year. We are just lacking so badly "playmakers" on D. We have some talent but we dont' have any game changers on D.

He also got done like a ***** earlier-allowing a CB to pull him out of his break, and get a pick 6, as well as dropping a TD

How do we know that Cutler threw it to the right or wrong spot?

The guy leads the league in receiving yards per game, and every defense knows he's getting the ball. At the very least he has already proven he can be a #1 receiver even without BM on the team. He's young and he doesn't have off-the-field baggage. The health thing can't be predicted. You can't let a great player go because you think he might get hurt.

As good as Alshon is, he could be better. He has dropped a few very catchable balls this year that could have been huge gains and touchdowns. I wish he was more consistent in all aspects of his game. Having said that, his stats should get him a pretty good contract. I just hope he picks up his game more after getting payed.

I fully expect all of this logic to be ignored. The CCS still seems to think he isn't a legitimate #1 receiver no matter how many games he puts up 100+ yards in as the obvious top receiver on the field drawing extra coverage his way. At this point I don't even understand it anymore. Its like people expect him to be a mix of Megatron and Jerry Rice in their primes non-stop every game. Well news flash, he's a fucking human being just like everyone else. Not a robot.

That wasn't it. Pick it up at :37.

Holding by Verrett. Regardless, Jeffery is the bigger, stronger player. Should not have let Verrett pull him out of his break like that.

There are only a few true playmakers on the team. Alshon is one of them. They need to pay him.

I am thinking the bears have a policy of not signing players during the season we will have to see. however the bears are going to have plenty of cap space to sign him forte and others

He "went beast mode" on a backup CB, after being absolutely and utterly powned by the starter before he went out with an injury.

This, and the guy has a terrible track record when it comes to staying healthy. if the organization pays him, it is NOT going to be what he hopes - and i don't believe it should be.

Hes in his fourth year. The man is only 25. Hes not even in his prime yet.

Some people really don't get that fact.

BTW, hes isn't going anywhere. We won't get better than a 2nd rounder for him, and the bears arent letting him walk in FA. Only way Jeffery isn't a Bear for the foreseeable future is if he decides we aren't good enough for him.
