My bad boys, forgot to put up the IGT today due to a combo of work and then immediately riding up to Soldier Field for the game.

Certainly not the best conditions for hockey, but that was the best sports viewing experience of my life. Just incredible.

I don't know - I thought it was great conditions for hockey ... ok, maybe not pro hockey - but just hockey in general -a lot of us probably have been out there like that.

I thought Kane looked like his mother dressed him (don't forget to cover your ears ... you'll get chilly...) -Ok to be fair others were rugged up as well - but man, I love that Toews -just another day out there - no Batman hood thing nothing - just go out there ... although I sort of miss not seeing frozen sweat on your hair.

Jeez -it felt like 30 years ago for me. Loved it ... great show (otoh I am not sure it was that indicative as to where the team is in terms of play).

Agree 100% man. I took a friend with me who wasn't too into hockey and he's also a new resident to Chicago -- but he's hooked. What an incredible experience. I never thought that drinking a beer in single-digit temperature would actually help warm up my body. And that national anthem was one of the most surreal moments of my life.

CHAMPS!!!!!!!

An accurate description of that anthem is beyond my vocabulary.

We need to have more of these, for many reasons...the main one being everyone wins.

1. Fans like it.
2. Players as well.
3. It gets casual fans to watch, good for the NHL.
4. More tickets sold, good for ownership.

The stadium sits unused during this time of year, why not use it for 5 or so home games?.

Because it's not quality hockey and it would diminish the unique-ness of the event. Law of diminishing returns in effect here.

Yeah, it would lose the novelty factor quickly. It was a great game to watch though, I have never seen hockey in the snow before.

They need to do a better job of spreading the games around, too. I understand the NHL wants to target markets where they'll get a solid turnout, but hockey is played in parts of the US other than the Eastern Conference.
