I didn't know the military and/or Emery were such good multi-taskers.

Judging from last year's draft, perhaps Emery should focus more on his own picks instead of playing Agent 007 with special teams coaches and CFL coaches.

Also, hiring a HC would be nice, too.

You're trying so hard... It's really pathetic to watch. smh.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Real Salt Lake
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Utah Jazz
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Utah Utes
So, we should be expecting the Bears to sign Marc Boerigter from the Calgary Stampeders because the Montreal Alouettes were pursuing him?

Harvey Armstrong is going to report back to Andy Reid "Yeah, the Bears told me they were going to draft Kolton Browning of ULM in the 1st round...we better take him with our 1st round pick before the Bears can get him! Because in the NFL, every team bases their top draft picks on who the Chicago Bears might be picking!"

I cannot believe the amount of retardation in these scenarios. Its as if 31 NFL teams have GMs that are retards, and the Bears have Emery.

That is exactly how it unfolds! Btw, this is from B & B lol

One can only hope that Emery didn't have a 9 hour interview with Tom Clements!

"Tom...how do you think I'm doing so far? If you were the GM here, what would you do?"

Hopefully Greg Roman is next. What a performance!!

I can see a bit of Emery's military background in this approach, tbh.

First aspect of tackling an issue is Intelligence - gather as much data and resources as possible. Once you have a wealth of information to draw on, you can then use it to your advantage when tackling your objective. It doesn't necessarily mean you will be completely beholden to the information, but what it can let you do in this instance is get an idea how other teams operate, which may allow you to gain an advantage over other teams if you are pursuing the same free agents, or if you need an edge on draft day to know whether you are safe standing pat on a pick, or might need to move aggressively to move up, or maybe even leak the right kind of false information to your rivals to try to influence them to jump up and grab a guy you had no intention of getting in the first place, just so the guy you really want has a better likelyhood of dropping in your lap.

Emery is gearing up for war, figuratively speaking, and I am loving it.

so what exactly is he learning from these candidates about the NFL?

i don't get it...he better be looking for a head coach, or coordinators, but as far as "information"...what information are you getting from these guys? if anyone thinks they're, like, spilling clubhouse secrets from the team they're currently employed by...i think not...

i would hope that 95% of these interviews were focusing on what they would do as the bears head coach and how they would fit with the players the bears have etc...

Stop being a moron.

Emery interviewed the entire NFL batch of OCs and I'm the moron? If he has no intentions of being a HC why would the GM need to know how to run an offense. Instead, he should be looking for a HC that knows what a OC should do and how to score points. If the HC doesn't know that, then he's Lovie Smith!

Yes, you are a moron. We're discussing a whole bunch of things that would be of benefit to emery by doing all these interviews, even if he already had an idea in mind who he wants, and you're ignoring all of it so you can *****.

That makes you a moron.

That is frightening! Emery is an NFL GM...he was interviewing position coaches, CFL coaches, special teams coaches, guys currently on the Bears staff, and guys who have been out of the NFL.

That would be like a guy being appointed CEO of Southwest Airlines, then he conducts interviews with the baggage handlers to get a better understanding of the CEO job.

If this is true, I can't imagine the interview Emery had with Toub...

"Dave...yeah...this is just like an obligatory interview...but have you ever run an NFL team before???"
I know, he was interviewing for "on the job boss" for TV.

It's interesting to read the posts of kids who grew up in the age of instantism. I am glad I am not one of their parents.

I would stop worring about the interviews.....the only thing you are doing is guessing.

We will find out what kind of HC the Bears hire after we start playing football games.

Well i don't have to call you anything in response. Not sure why you are so upset with me. Oh well, I was really looking to hear that he actually hired a HC. Not setting up for battle against a military! Sorry, I smacked you where it counts.

Al Davis did this all the time, let's just hope Emery makes wiser choices than Davis did.
This Al Davis knew what he was doing:
