Its truly fucking hilarious - I've been fighting with people who had that take since game 3.

Only know we've had a couple of people walk it back, but what cracks me up is the ones that do pretend they never had that take in the first place.

Just man up, take your lumps like a man, own that you said it, and that after actually watching the games, you changed your mind.

Don't be the ***** that pretends you didn't have a trash take in the first place. Then again, this is CCS.....
Apparently the words "I was wrong" are the hardest in the English language for some people here. It's really not that hard and there is no shame in it. In fact, the opposite.

Agree with this completely, but you know there's always some d-bag who's going to act like they've never clogged a toilet before. I've been wrong a lot, occasionally get things right, and am happy to be wrong if it means my team is winning (or is on a trajectory to win).

Shit, to this day, I still will occasionally take shit on my "wishful thinking" take on Andy fucking Fantuz, and frankly, rightly so.

People should just take their lumps like men, evolve, and move on - not whine and ***** or passive-aggressively troll to cover for their own horrible takes.

It's not a bad thing to grow up from all that kindergarten bullshit, but you'd think it were with the number of people with "Peter Pan Syndrome" on here....

Poles went into this season on the fence about Fields and didn't give him weapons. I am sure he knows it is time to help Fields and I expect he will invest in weapons and protection in the offseason.
The trouble is is usually takes more than a year for rookie WRs and O linemen to acclimate to the NFL, which means another year of Field's rookie contract will be wasted even if Poles finally wakes up next year.. The team is paying a heavy price for Pole's failure to prioritize WRs and the O line in the draft and free agency.

Who hates Fields?

Name one poster.

Lol is this a serious question?

Literally you and the usual suspects. I won’t name names, but those who believe the NFL is scripted and that the world is flat. Also, posters who spend their entire Thanksgiving weekend fighting an imaginary vortex.

These posters and others like them have generally shown bias toward Fields.

He's not Dear Sweet Mitchell. Remember this doozy:
Complete opposite take on fault and solutions yet somehow still manages to come up with an uniquely untenable solution to the situation.
Yeah because year 4 QBs on the last year of there deal are the same as a year 2 QB that needs all the reps he can get to develop. Trust me in year 4 if Fields followed the same path that Mitch did with not developing then I will be calling for him not to play another down for the Bears like I did with Mitch..

You bumping a 2 year old thread where I didnt want Mitch to play for the Bears again means what exactly with me wanting Fields to play and get better? You guys dont even know what to argue anymore..

I wouldn't say wasted... even this year, with us dealing with a ton of injuries and completely changing offenses halfway through the season we've had an above average to good offense.

Another offseason to train in the same system injected with new talent will do wonders. And rookie wide receivers are consistently productive in this league so I think you're off base there.

Not a thing other than it's another ridiculously idiotic take on the situation and an example of your tentative grasp on reality.

We will have to disagree. If you look at rookie WR production, you'll see that most take at least a year to adapt to the NFL. The ones who excell in their rookie years, like Jefferson of the Vikings, are definitely the exceptions. Fields has single handedly made the Bears offense go. I just hope he gets out of this year without a major injury.

I always believed that Poles should have prioritized support for Fields in the draft and free agency. I think many are now coming around to agree.

Hard to get a game changer with no first round pick. You aren't getting the Drake London, Garrett Wilson or Chris Olaves with no first round pick

You look at what Fields does for this team with a crow offensive line and absolutely zero weapons in the passing game. I'm typically not a fan of trading draft capital for older players but I'd try to get DeAndre Hopkins for a 2nd rounder. Add a center and a right tackle and I think this team is nasty on offense. That's the type of talent Fields is showing.

Pretty sure yesterdays WR group was the worst group I've seen the Bears put out in 30 years of watching. - and i'm confident its once ESB was knocked out. Even the years where Devin Hester was getting 90+ targets those teams still had guys Brandon Lloyd, Earl Bennet, KNox - not world beaters but all of those guys would have been the best WR on the field for the Bears yesterday. Hell 2008 Devin Hester might have been better than any WR out there yesterday.
Lol! We thought Earl Bennett was going to be somebody!

its not the same situation.. 2year QB vs 4th year QB is not the same situation. We can all talk about Fields never playing a down for the Bears again in year 4 if he sucks as much as Mitch did..

I want Fields to play, I gave up on Mitch and didnt want him to play.. But you're somehow going to argue with this? You guys are so twisted up you dont even know what the hell to argue anymore.

Like someone else said, I don't necessarily believe that EberPoles was sold on Fields just yet. A few weeks again they realized he's the guy and we're gonna see a draft and free agency catered to him.

I don't like our receiving core, but I do think that when healthy and with an offseason and an opened up offense, we could see good production from Claypool and Mooney specifically. He has something with Kmet already, and I'm fine with Pringle being a number 4 or 5. I think we need one more player, though... a legit number one at that position.

As for the line? That needs a couple of pieces.

This is 100% percent it. Poles wanted to blow this whole shitshow up, quarterback too.. but figured if the kid could survive this year and somehow show improvement then they have something special. That's the only explanation for not surrounding him with real talent at receiver and offensive line.
Contrary to the opinion of some here, Poles did not come in determined to move on from Fields. He came in needing to see what he had in Fields. There is a HUGE difference between the two. A grade of F vs a Grade of Incomplete. Now he has a grade on his QB and there are no questions about whether he would go after someone else.

Poles job is to accumulate talent all over the roster in such a way as to build a contending team.

It is not now, nor has it ever been, solely to "get weapons for Fields". He will need to do that in order to be a contender, but it didn't have to be the first thing on the shopping list. Reaching for a guy based on position on a team with a hundred holes is a bad way to build.

He will get protection for Fields and he will get weapons for Fields.
