Pete Carroll Keeping Part-Time Job Despite Becoming Raiders Coach

Whether you like Pete Carroll as the new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders or not, there's no denying that the man still has plenty of energy at an age where most people would prefer to be out golfing.

While working in the front office for the Seattle Seahawks this past year, the former Super Bowl champion has been holding onto a part-time job teaching a class at USC, the school he once turned back into a national powerhouse and led to a national title.

But while Carroll has a lot of work to do in getting the Raiders' organization competitive again, he's apparently not going to need so much time that he can't teach his class anymore. According to Ryan Kartje of the Los Angeles Times, Carroll will continue teaching his "Game is Life" course at USC even while serving as head coach. Though it remains to be seen if that will continue into next fall.

"Pete Carroll will continue co-teaching his class at USC, Game is Life, despite being hired as the Las Vegas Raiders head coach, the university tells @latimes," Kartje wrote.
"The plan was always for Carroll to teach the class alongside Varun Soni, USC’s Dean of Religious and Spiritual Life. No details on how that will work while Carroll is coaching an NFL team."

NFL fans are understandably confused as to how Carroll intends to continue teaching a course while also being the head coach of a football team:

"How’s that ever gonna work?" one user wondered.
"'Alright class, for the next assignment I will have you evaluate draft eligible players and all upcoming NFL free agents and write your opinion on how they’d fit in my system,'” another joked.
"We got a part time coach," a third concluded.

By the sounds of things, Carroll doesn't exactly have to take a lot of time out of his schedule to do his coaching job. He's co-teaching, which means he isn't exactly running the class.
Nevertheless, it's a pretty unique move for a head coach.https://thespun.com/nfl/love-it-nfl-fans-react-to-pete-carrolls-return-to-coaching

Probably pops in once a month for 10 minutes to talk so he can still be paid as a 'co-professor'.
Or something close to that....imo ..this isn't newsworthy at all... I mean full-time professors are in the classroom half the week AT MOST!
