The Bears timeline is off and has been for some time. They need to clean house. New GM, who picks his HC, who picks his QB. Everyone in lockstep. Or just back up the money truck for Harbaugh and let him do it all.

I'm tired of these arranged marriages between QBs/GMs/Coaches.

People keep saying Fields is "broken". But he's been the exact same player for 2+ years in the NFL that he was in college. All his flaws were there in college. He is the problem, not the coaches, not the situation. He is a very, very bad quarterback. I think people are blinded by his awesome raw talent but at no time has he ever showed any ability to be an NFL quarterback.

That's not to say what's around him isn't garbage, but it's very clear that Fields' inability to play quarterback from the pocket makes it all but impossible to '" coach" him or run an offense of any kind. What do you do with a quarterback who can't read defenses? Who can't process zone coverage can't read man coverage leverage?

I think Justin Fields is a great kid. It wouldn't surprise me if,in 2 or 3 years, he pops back up as a decent quarterback. But right now, he is historically bad.

Clogged Passing Lanes man.
Gesty scheme clogs up the passing lanes, Making it hard on Fields to decide if he should throw the ball. All-22 shows us Gesty's trash.

Ex. Fields threw to claypool but the ball never arrived because Kmet jumps 6 feet into the air thinking the ball was intended for Kmet himself, Claypool route was crossing over and fucking DIRECTLY behind kmet's route, fucking asinine AF.

Another play... Gesty has 3 WRs on fucking cross route go to Fields' left only to be 3 to 4 feet apart on their routes, our WRs are basically covered and trapped. w/ Fields rolling out to his right...... Kmet is down the seam covered by 2 LBs. GTFOH with that shit.

Sends our Wr's from the outside towards the middle, completely leading the entire defense towrds the middle making it easy to intercept fields or get our WR's killed. You should NOT sign up to play for this guy.

tons of fucking miscommunications...lots of it, Wr's running out 2 feet behind Moore and guessing where to "sit" and then get jammed up, Mooney and clay becomes non-existent in Gesty scheme.

There's more but that just from last week's game, gesty been clogging our WR routes. no fucking verticals whatsoever.
I need a shower.

Orton/Ron Turner?
Yeah, but Orton was the backup that got thrust into the starting role due to injury. At this point Rex was their guy and in his 3rd year and 3rd system.

While Poles will undoubtedly try and use Fields not being "his guy" and his strategic positioning to pick his QB this offseason, I hope someone asks him to be accountable on the roster he built on the defensive side of the ball as well. One could argue he didn't build the offensive line truly needed to help Fields out but that the receiving and rushing weapons were in place for Fields to show progress. But I hope that Poles doesn't get more time simply because he didn't have his QB without answering for the disaster he has built up on the defensive side of the ball under his defensive minded head coach pick. That alone may be enough to justify sending him packing and not letting him take a swing at "his QB" this offseason.
