Yes, when I suggested Sutton, I assumed he’d declare. I’d be happy to trade back and grab Jackson. He’ll be an elite LG in the NFL and he played some incredibly good LT after Simmons went down. I think he opened a lot of eyes regarding his flexibility and ceiling at the NFL level. He’s one of my favorite players in this draft.

Bruce Feldman revisited members of his “freaks” list that are in this draft.

“19. Donovan Jackson, Ohio State, OG

One of the leaders for the national champions, Jackson shifted from guard to left tackle when Josh Simmons was lost for the year with an injury.

The 6-4, 320-pound Jackson is super strong, but his agility is even more impressive. He timed a 1.59 10-yard split last offseason, vertical jumped 30 inches and went 9-7 in the broad jump.

11. Tyleik Williams, Ohio State, DT

The Buckeyes had a terrific D-line, and the 6-3, 327-pound Williams was its anchor. He had eight TFLs and 46 tackles for the national champions and should excel at the combine. Despite his massive frame, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him run the 40 in the 4.8s and clock a 10-yard split under 1.65.”

Which NFL Draft 2025 prospects will show off at the combine? Revisiting Bruce Feldman’s Freaks ListWhich NFL Draft 2025 prospects will show off at the combine? Revisiting Bruce Feldman’s Freaks List
Love watching 6'3 327 pound DT's running 4.8's in the 40.

I guess Alan Faneca, Steve Hutchinson, Quentin Nelson, Randall McDaniel, Will Shields, Joe Thuney, Chris Lindstrom, Quinn Mineriz(?) shouldn’t have played Guard in college then. Plenty of other examples too.

There are some great guards that were tackles in college but you can’t paint with that broad of a stroke.
My man you're listing guys who came out nearly 40 years ago. Faneca is nearly 30 years ago. Hutchinson 25 years ago. Is Nelson the closest you have to a recent example? Thuney was a tackle thank you very much for that.

Thuney was not a tackle his entire career. They moved him to tackle out of necessity.
He started his entire junior season at guard. They had injuries at LT so he moved to T as a senior. Thanks.

Love how you ignored Lindstrom and Meineriz too.

There's nothing to ignore. You're bringing up a handful of guys over 40 years of NFL doesn't make your argument any stronger.

First true OG doesn’t show up until 49th(Booker).

Jeanty in the top 5, Starks also top 10.
Sanders in the 40’s. Nolen also in the top 15.

Interesting list
Hell be even higher after the Combine and his pro day.

Part of why I do want the Bears to just pony up for Smith and Becton in free agency is in hopes that they'll take Walter Nolen in round one and Tyleik Williams in round 2, Kaleb Johnson with the other second rounder and Jake Majors in round 3.

That fixes your Offensive line and now have THE BEST DT rotation in the game. Any competent 4-3 defense should have 4 strong DTs with two SHADES and two 3TECHSand one of which needs to swing across the defensive line in various sub packages.

Take whichever SLOT or FLEX TE falls to round 5. Sign a get me over SLOT or FLEX TE to a one year deal.

After the draft swung a deal for a DE like Hendrickson. You should be able to land Hendrickson for less than a first round pick.

That will give a riot squad of a football team. I don't care who the opponents are
They're not beating this team with these additions

lol. This board is constantly bringing up Trey Smith, who played college as an OG. You still living in that world of Hyperbole?

Which positions did Meinerz & Lindstrom play in college? What about Hunt?

You said that only college OT’s make good OG”s, which has been proven false even though you keep ignoring the evidence.

Is he ever right about anything? I thought he was CCS comedy
Wait for it, Chris Lindstrom played offensive tackle at Boston College as well and was an All ACC player at offensive tackle. So again we find a player who was a good offensive tackle in college was moved to guard. Hey, there seems to be a pattern here that I'm still right about.

So no need to draft any college guards. Got it

I understand all of the OL talk, but the bears better address safety in FA or the draft since Brisker is one tackle away from the cemetary, from a personal standpoint, I think he should just retire and live out his life healthy
