Okay people, perhaps the only time I'll ever ask for you opinions.

I've been on my own individual cell phone plan with AT&T for two years now. I've been paying about $90 a month for unlimited texting, 5G of data, and 450 talk minutes for my iPhone. And that's after my company's discount rate.

I'm thinking of switching to T-Mobile for a few months, maybe years. Has anyone ever had T-Mobile? A lot of my friends do and seem to have no issues. The coverage seems to be good in the Chicagoland area and that's all I really care about. They also offer a WAY better package. For $60 a month, I can keep my iPhone, have unlimited text, talk, and 5G of data. That's more than enough.

I'm 22, single, no kids.....I feel it's ridiculous to pay almost a hundred bucks a month and be locked in a two year contract with AT&T. Plus, aside from Sprint, they have the WORST customer service.

So tell me what you know about T-Mobile! Thanks :)

I pay Sprint $69.99 for unlimited text and data and more minutes than I could ever use (not that I'm making calls much from Mon-Fri during business hours). It also covers my insurance and a $5 surcharge for getting all international calls at a few cents per minute.

I had sprint for four years and constantly had dropped calls.

Srsly though. I tried out T-mobile a few months ago and loved it except for the coverage in eastern NC. The phone financing is cool and the plans are ridiculously affordable. I was with us cellular and t-mobiles customer support and service both in store and on the phone was awesome, especially compared to us cellular. The only reason I don't have t-mobile right now is because they only have 2g and not much coverage outside of town. They are supposed to be building 4g towers soon, and if so I will make the switch.

Virgin Mobile. Never had an issue.

Same here. I'm a cheap bastard. Pretty sure Virgin runs on Sprint's network, but I've never had any issues. $45 a month unlimited text / data and 1200 mins (unlimited mins is like $10 more, but I barely talk on my cell).

That's weird. I don't think I've ever had a dropped call in the 10 years I've been with them, and I live in a much smaller city than you.

As of now I'm using net 10. $80 a month for 2 phones but not a ton of high speed data. Like 1Gb I think. The website is pretty irritating to navigate trying to pay and get information. But you can use cdma phones with net 10

Cool, thanks for the input. I probably wouldn't consider it if I lived anywhere else, but I hear the coverage is good in Chicago.

I would like a carrier whom I can simply pay a flat fee 4/texts and airtime minutes.

Been getting raped by Sprint for years b/c I cannot find a carrier that has good service, as most pay as you go companies have limited coverage. So every month, I lose a lot of unused minutes that of course do not carry over.

I wanna pay for 1000 minutes and 100 texts, if it takes me 6 months to use it...then as a consumer we should have this option along with acceptable service.

And for God sakes, give us phones with one touch speaker BUTTON option for driving W/O having to use a touchscreen. That way we could actually answer the phone while driving without risking our lives and those around us.:D

Well apparently they were "doing construction on the towers" and they kept telling us it would get better. It was awful. Plus my best friends ex works for Sprint and he's a ****** and I vowed to never switch back haha

You guys and your burner phones. Does commercial printing = drug dealing Monk?

yup. A family owned drug dealing operation. Who knew there would be so much drama.

Also, Mrs.Rex, if you wanted to try out t-mobile and you have a compatible phone, you can do the $2 a day unlimited. I think its a minimum of 5 days but that's what I did to test the network.

I just don't feel the need to pay $90+ a month for a device that does the same things as my laptop
