I am finally entering the world of photography, something I've wanted to do for a very long time. Bought a Canon T3i, should be here in about a week. A big part of my professional background is web design, although it is sort of a secondary part of my job now...point is, Photoshop is a tool I am very familiar with (been using it for like 15 years). Looking at integrating Lightroom into my overall flow, primarily for image management. I'm hoping that translates into being able to get stuff perfect in post production pretty quickly.

Anyone else here into photography?

I'm into photography but I don't have enough money to go buy an actual camera, so I tend to take pictures with my cell phone & edit the contrast, etc.

Ha, ya....I was there for awhile as well.

I decided to bite the bullet and pull the trigger though. Not an opportune time really, but photography closely ties into some personal lifetime ambitions. Think Anthony Bourdain / Ansel Adam's illegitimate love child, goes out into the world and captures stills, tells a compelling story of experience that stretches the planet...in the form of a blog. Not something I intend on ever making money from, just a quest to experience and share as much as possible before I leave this mortal coil.

Nice camera. I hear a lot of good things, even pros(real pros, not schmoe with a site selling amateur pictures as a shutterbug) that are perfectly happy with the T3 SLRs.

I was into photography before digital became the norm. I had a phase I guess. Then again, I joined the army, so a lot of my hobbies changed afterwards LOL.

That's generally how I feel about photography. I knew a person who would go around the country to all these different sporting events & take candid photos of the game atmosphere. The fans, vendors, stadium, but not of the actual game. I think that's what really got me interested in photography. If I can ever afford a real camera (I'm still in college, so I have some time before I have some money to spend lol), I'd like to make a blog out of it & just share what I've seen and hopefully others will enjoy it.

Something with a little color...Great blue heron, pretty damn far away. This was maxed out at like 300mm (given the lenses I have).

Nice choice in camera nvan. I dove into photography last month and bought a Canon 60d and a couple of lenses. I also bought a "Dummies" book and another photography book to play along with.

saw this in the yard today and snapped the picture. I don't have any photo editing software, but would love to see only the flower in color, and the rest in grey scale/black and white. either way, I thought it was a cool picture...

Im into photography, but still shoot film - mostly 4X5, develop the negs, and scan them. I still prefer the darkroom, but don't have the space in my new house. I still think film is superior for black and white...
