Your point about the Celtics resembling that Bulls team is very interesting. I also agree with it. At the end of the day, a healthy Celtics team destroys us.

I still think we match up well with the Cavs. I want the Bulls to go into the playoffs on a high note though, so I don't think we'll play them.

I also like P03's point on if we play the Cavs and pull off a miracle win we then get an easy round 2 matchup.

Also the Cavs matchup gives us a better draft pick.

I'm okay regardless of where we finish though.

Thanks for giving it a read DT.

The Celtics worry me, I just think they are going to come out looking to prove a point. Garnett is going to play the last three games, and if he was really hurt I think they would just hold him out for the regular season. The C's could get away with working him back into shape in a first round matchup.

I would like to see them play Orlando, but I'm pleased they are heading into the playoffs playing well.

Great article Kush! I always thought it'd be best to play the Cavs since we have a deeper bench, but still Lebron is Lebron. I like what you said about Orlando, they can hit that 3 ball but we can always catch them on an off night. Either way, all 3 are pretty much poison. This will be a great experience for the young guys we have and it's nice if we can go into this thing red hot. So far we are right on track.

Great job again on the article. Keep up the good work on this site, forums, and podcasts!

I tend to agree that the Magic are our best matchup, even though I think a Cavs series would be fun because they're a division rival, and I think we'll have to beat the Cavs eventually in the playoffs if we ever hope to win a championship in the Lebron era.

The Magic are a jumpshooting team primarily. Jumpshooting teams go cold, sometimes for a 3, 4, 5, 6 game stretch. If the Magic's shooter go cold for a series, we could conceivably win.

The Cavs have been to the finals, and the Celtics won one. Both of those teams know what it takes to make it through the playoffs. I don't see them losing to an 7th or 8th seed. But the Magic have yet to be past the 2nd round, so they may be vulnerable.

I think the path to beating the Magic in a playoff series is having 1 game where the Magic shooters are cold, 2 games where Gordon dominates, and 1 game where Rose dominates.

We're big underdogs, but anything is possible. A 67 win Mavs team that was in the finals the previous year got knocked out in the first round, so maybe the same thing can happen to a 67 win Cavs team, or 60+ win Celtics/Magic teams.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Pick your poison fits very appropriately here. When all three times are completely healthy all of them can thoroughly trounce us. In my opinion, we don't match up well with Boston and since they will have Garnett back, the most we would do is maybe steal a game from them. Same goes for the Cavs. LeBron is LeBron and he can single handedly knock us out of the playoffs. Our best bet would probably be an ice cold Orlando team. Since they rely on 3's so much we would have the best chance of stealing more than one game from them.

Regardless of who we face, playoff experience is playoff experience. Let's just be thankful we're in the playoffs again.

Great article. I'd like to see the Bulls play the Magic as well. I am a firm believer that the Magic are a 1st round exit waiting to happen. If we D up on the perimeter and play the way we have offensively for the last month we can beat the Magic. We are just as good a home team as they are. I can easily see it going 7 games.

I think the Bulls might face Boston or Orlando in the playoffs.
If they play against Cleveland Lebron will kill the Bulls.
So it's better if they play against Boston or Orlando but they have no chance of winning the series against both teams.

The main reason that Boston scares me (outside of being more talented) is that they are the only team who has a point guard that can actually keep up with Derrick defensively. Derrick can dominate the other two teams PG matchup wise, but Rondo has the potential to match Derrick and keep up with him on defense.

The main reason Boston scares me, is they've destroyed us everytime that Garnett was in the lineup.

Against Orlando, we've blown them out this year. And even in the past, we've played them tough. Like that New Years Eve game last season where Gordon went off, and we just didn't finish down the stretch. That was the game when Gordon made that infamous turnover.

We beat the Cavs this year, and over the past few years we've played the Cavs pretty well, even though they're an even better beast this year.

I'd prefer Orlando, because that would mean we finished the season strong and got the sixth seed, and I also think that's our best matchup.

Hedo Turkoglu had a sprained ankle now, and Rashard Lewis has right knee tendinitis.

Bulls have to gut out these final two games and get the wins, to make sure they have a great shot at getting that sixth seed. Magic are all banged up right now, if we play tough, we can take them.

I think Philadelphia and Miami will lose at least 2 of their final 3 games. It will all come down to the Detroit game for the Bulls. Can you imagine if everything lines up, the Bulls can get the 5th seed and play the Hawks, wouldn't that be something.

I agree with u kush I don't see us having much chance against boston or cleveland but with the magic maybe we can be competitive and win 2 games and playoff experience means somethin and. With the exception of hedo I don't think any of the magic players have been out of the first round

Again, I'm ignorant. Why do we have our Coast Guard ships in other parts of the world? Aren't they supposed to protect OUR coast and waters from attack, pirates and drug runners?

Never known the Coast Guards SOP as far as to why they are forward deployed to places like the Gulf. However, it has always been a long standing "Mariner's Tradition" that you save other mariners in distress, regardless of nationality or political feelings.

Chief, besides the "code" we don't really have a problem with the citizens of Iran, only the dickheads in charge.

So you basically want the Coast Guard or Navy to engage in Piracy?

I want our US Citizen home safe. Not executed by Iran. Hell Iran should turn him over to us in good faith since we just saved two Iranian crews when in reality we coulda just looked the other way.
