Not a big fan of the format. I'd much rather beat STL in the NLCS, but what can ya do?

Every year I complain about NHL playoff pairings for the same reason, which also are still structured by division. Yet for the past 2 seasons, Hawks faced the best opponent in WCF...the equivalent of NLCS.
So long as you win, it matters not who you defeat(or when)along the way.
Cubs Vs. Blue Jays...book it!.

They would have to take away to add 2 games. Either days off or 7 games cut to 5 game series

Worst part about this is that people will say Cubs fans are bitching about it.The Dodgers and Mets really get a break here. Both finish with worst records than the 3 teams, yet one is guaranteed a NLCS spot. Awful.

Will be interesting to see how this pans out, straight seeding by league record would seem to insure that the 2 best teams face-off in a championship series.
Yet the NHL has a similar format as MLB, and the Ducks/Kings were both the second best teams in the conference...somehow it worked.
