Oh man I wish for everything but breaking news. Back when I worked at a daily, they were the true heroes.
But most publications have replaced them with Grammarly or other spell checkers. And now that most copy is for digital, even newspapers aren't scrupulous with fact checking and editing. I read the Chicago Tribune every day and find typos in Biggs and other stories. Copy editors cost money, because they have to eat. And people want their free news on Facebook.

The best ones remind us of the ties of money to sports. Where it comes from and what it’s used for. And what relevance sports has to our society in general, both monetarily and ideologically.

Noam Chomsky once wrote about how sports took the place of power in political argument amongst many people, because most people felt it was easier to argue about sports discourse than the nuances of politics.

Personally, I'm more drawn into trying to understand the many power struggles between the various actors in sports. I don't think it's very different from any other corporate or political enterprise in the world.

Be careful of sticking or letting anything up your butt, it can be dangerous! Read a news story earlier this week about some dude that is suing an adult toy company because their plug was supposed to be made of all silicone but actually had some metal inside of it. Dude went to get an MRI (weirdly with the toy inside of him, dunno why he thought that was a good idea) and let's just say, it didn't end well. Imagine that rehab... going on a run and accidentally shitting himself all because he wore a plug to an MRI appointment - GROSS!
