Polish political leaders and some jewish groups demanded President Obama apologize for identifying Nazi death camps in Poland as Polish death camps. I know this is a sensitive subject, but I think this a little overblown. When awarding a medal to the family of a polish resistance fighter who identified Nazi death camps to allied troops called them Polish death camps. Almost everyone knew what he meant. But I'm curious to see what you guys think.

From what I understand the uproar is more over why the naming of the camp was not changed when some of Obama's staff had made an earlier visit to get facts and information straight for the speech.

Look, I'm all about just getting over it - but it certainly isn't that easy to sum up. I could see how some could see it as being compared to one of the most evil organizations in history - the Nazis. Folks tend to not look too kindly on those kinds of comparisons.
