Popeyes Chicken Sandwich

They recently opened one four blocks from me. Had been wondering if it is worth a shot. Harolds has been way disappointing lately and I could use a "last minute" fried chicken fix.

Any menu recommendations???

I always think that the fresh chicken buckets from most grocery stores are pretty good. Mariano's, Heinen's, Sunset, Whole Foods, etc.

Rotisserie chickens are surprisingly good too and a lot healthier than fried chicken.

Lol, well there is not much to the menu. It's chicken strips or a chicken strip sandwich. There's like 4 menu items - 3 piece chicken finger box, 4 piece, 6 piece or chicken strip sandwich. They all come with texas toast, coleslaw, crinkle cut fries and canes sauce, which is fantastic. People always complain about the lack of menu options, but they know what they are good at. Lemonade is great, too. It's not sexy, but good for a quick, cheap lunch.

I just passed one on way home from work. I pass by it every day and it’s usually normal business. Tonight there was a line out onto the street

That is my go to when I don't want to cook. Six dollar chickens at the grocery store two blocks over...then make rice and something green...boom...dinner.

The sandwich is ok. I like homestyle better than the spicy. The spicy part is just shitty heat. Its not flavorful. I hate when people make things just to be hot and there is no real flavor.

Pickles are da bomb doe. They must make them in a commissary.

Also, I dont eat fast food often but Popeyes isnt what it used to be. Thanks Burger King.

Well, it's like a novelty. Kinda like Egg Nog lol. Once it's back, I have to get it atleast once. If they had it year round, I probably would never order it again.

The attraction of Raising Cane’s makes no sense to me.

They sell only chicken strips, even if you have a sandwich. They’re hot and fresh but not particularly tasty.

And the kicker is, a restaurant where they make only one item, makes you wait for it no matter if you’re there at their busiest times!

“Stand there for ten minutes and we will call your name over the PA which will echo in our restaurant of steel and concrete.”

Yeah, great atmosphere!
