Doesn't look promising but Seahawks cap looks a lot better if this trade went down in June. Like I said, I'm not predicting anything but there's a small possibility that this isn't over.

Another aspect is that you can't trade the reported 3 1sts offer for a player unless it's during the draft so...

? LOL.

Bears offered three firsts, 2 3rds, and a player. Pete Carroll was the one who shut the trade down:
Hate the guy but i'll give him credit, he swings hard. He threw the kitchen sink at SEA. Even for someone like me, that's a lot for a 32 year old franchise qb.

If he was willing to give all of that for Wilson, i think we can stop with the suggestion that the Bears had nothing to offer Houston.

So now they’re going to have to give up assets to move up in the draft for a gamble.

Bringing in Dalton is fucking stupid as hell. Like, it wouldn’t have been LAST YEAR when he was a free agent and you can keep a damn 4th round pick.

Just click bait for ppl reeling from the post Wentz/Watson/Wilson hangover.

I don't even think they're going to reach in the draft unless someone slides waaay down the board.

I don't think they move up very much if they do, sort of get the last man standing sort of thing. I'm not a Dalton fan but it wasn't stupid. Best available unless you prefer Mitch. At this point Mitch proved he hasn't advanced in those last 2 games with odd choices on not making 1sts, late decisions etc. Most important games of his personnel career and he reverted to the Mitch we expect. The issue is how we got to this point but right now, it's time to get a pro starter in here. After shaking my head and laughing out loud about the signing, I understand the signing but still hate that we're here.

You are never assured of coming away with a viable QB in the draft regardless of what you do. You can't go into it with just Foles unless in a rebuild.

That probably means he'll trade 3 drafts to move up an pick some bust,

Not true. You can offer 3. You can't offer 4 unless draft night.

At least that's what I heard...

I would absolutely love if George sack'd up and told these two clowns they're not reaching for shit, despite what he told the media.

Ok, they threw an offer at them, that is more than enough to compensate Seattle.

I imagine that Wilson is not happy that they turned down a very good offer, and yet they speak about trying to repair the relationship?

I actually understand Seattle's reluctance to accept an offer that includes the 20th pick this year. They would essentially need to bundle that pick along with others to move up in the draft to get another QB (just like us). It really would negate any value this year, so they would be better off keeping him.

But they’re only in this situation because they put themselves in it, is my point.

This is what happens when you give up a 4th for mediocre statues like Foles and refuse to draft developmental guys.

He’s drafted one. The way he’s handled the position is stupid.

That's just it with the Bears...They are never really terrible but never really elite (sans a season here or there) so the Bear's 1st round picks are almost always low/bad picks.

That is always going to be the problem for any team that trades for Wilson/Watson....The teams that need that Qb to take to the next level, their picks just aren't high enough in the draft (meaning top 5/10). The teams that do have those picks (Jets, Miami) why send all that capital for Wilson/Watson when this is one of the better top end QB drafts in a while and next year is supposedly going to be one of the worst QB drafts in forever.

That is a lot for a QB that will be 33 during next season but if we got him and it worked for us and we were challenging the Packers every year for the NFC North and winning the NFC North and making the playoffs and making noise in the playoffs and being considered a super bowl contender for the next 7-8-9 years or however long Russell can play great football for then it would definitely make it worth it.

Yep. He blew it when drafted Trubisky. And then doubled down on the Mack trade as if Mitch was the guy. He left himself no wiggle room. It's going to take a few years to recover from that.

He can get the wiggle room back if he doesn't trade up.

That’s the concern here because I think they will trade up. Get it wrong (again) and that’s another several years of setting the franchise back due to stupid decisions on one fucking position.

I can’t rationalize the Dalton pick up. It’s just more bad decision making to try cover up past errors.
