Hawks = good

Emery = bad

PP in the 3rd period = a blast from the past. Why did the coaches start playing Sharp back on the point after a good game and 2 periods of not having sharp on the point and the pp looking great? So confusing.

I like these lines a lot.

My only concern, though, is Shaw.... I don't know whats wrong with him, but he's not really faring as well as I'd expect him to be. He isn't seen as much... What happened?

Or continue his climb up the all time wins list.

And have you seen the goaltending? That could **** up a line of Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit.

I wasn't bitching about Emery but damn there were a couple plays where I should have. He can't control rebounds worth a damn til that last one in the 3rd period. I think that was more rust than anything else, really.

Otherwise, he needs to kiss his goal posts tonight. They saved him at least twice tonight.

Why were you expecting him to look better? I don't understand why people feel he de facto deserved to be on the roster based on his being a liability with Rockford all season. He put up some points sure but he's also been a stone-cold bonehead taking stupid penalties, getting into stupid fights, and had multiple suspensions and if I recall correctly even was excused by the team during one of his suspensions to go back home and deal with personal shit.

Never a big fan of Shaw. At the very best he should be on the 4th line.

Good game. Nice to see the Hawks offense working so well early on. Defense also has a sense of purpose. Emery was clearly rusty and was struggling the whole game. On the other side Smith didn't look too hot either, whiny little shit with that tantrum on that last goal.

2-0 with 11 goals scored, a good start. Keep on going and improving, please.

I noticed Shaw all night. Was I drunk? He had lots of good chances up front and was forechecking well. Once he starts finishing those chances more its all going to be good good good. Its a new 3rd line give them more than 2 games to gell. I actually like that line and see great potential if it is left a lone for a while. Stalberg and Shaw will work well together if given the right amount of time to develop.

How good is Bolland so far as the second line center. For those who were worried about him losing his edge playing the second line? Foolish. Guys feisty as ever and opening space for both Kane and Sharp. This is a good good line.

This teams PK is dynamite so far also. I am enjoying both PK lines out there.

I like Shaw better than Carcillo... that said, I think Stalberg/Kruger/Frolik is a tempting line to throw out there. I think Shaw should stick on the 4th line until he shows some finish.

I know I said I like Saad on the 3rd line but he didn't miss a beat up there with Hoss and Toews. In fact I thought he looked better than Carcillo.

I hate being this guy (cause I'm always this guy) but if I had to do the lines I would set out with this:

Saad/Toews/Hossa

Sharp/Bolland/Kane

Stalberg/Kruger/Frolik

Bickell/Shaw/Bollig or Mayers

When Carcillo comes back, put him on that 4th line and take out Bollig/Mayers

I also liked what I saw from Saad in so much as one could for a kid playing in his 3rd game? Obviously he needs time to adjust to Hossa and Toews as he was a step behind sometimes but that is to be expected right now. It's worth keeping them together for a while also.
