My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Miami Hurricanes
  2. Northern Illinois Huskies
Cuts/Not Re-Signed:

Eddie Jackson
-$12.56M cap savings: his best days are behind him.
Cody Whitehair-$9.146m cap savings: actually a decent backup guard to have, but not at his cap hit ($13.25M)

Velus Jones, Trenton Gill, Darnell Mooney, Yannick Ngakoue, Justin Jones, Lucas Patrick, Dan Feeny, Robert Tonyan, Rashemm Green, D'Onta Foreman, Marcedes Lewis, ESB, Trent Taylor

Extensions:

Jaylon Johnson
-Franchise Tag (1 yr, $18.4M, I don't think a long-term deal gets done this off-season)
Tevin Jenkins-2 yr, $12M. Excellent when he's healthy, but health issues will prevent a huge contract. Will effectively be a 1 yr contract extension
Josh Blackwell-2 yr, $1.8M. Decent depth worth keeping around

Free Agent Signings:

Lloyd Cushenberry
-4 yr, $44M. A rookie QB will need a veteran center. Can't have a rookie center calling protections for a rookie QB
Hollywood Brown-3 yr, $45M. Not a WR1, but would be a very good WR2 and complement to DJ Moore
Bryce Huff-4 yr, $40M. Has earned a payday with production improving each with his time with the Jets. Very high pass rush win rate to provide a presence opposite Sweat
Xavier McKinney-3 yr, $27M. Good all-purpose safety to replace Bojack. Won't cost as much as Winfield Jr.
Matt Araiza-2 yr, $2M. Gill has got to go and Araiza is available. You don't earn the nickname "Punt God" without booming kicks.
Donovan Peoples-Jones-1 yr, $2.5M. Depth piece that can also return punts.
Albert Okwuegbunam-1 yr, $2M. Athletic TE familiar with the sytem.
Jacoby Brissett-1 yr, $5M. Veteran presence for the rookie to have in the QB room

Trades:

Justin Fields traded to Atlanta for their 2024 2nd round draft pick and 2025 conditional 3rd round pick.

Draft:

1.01 Chicago, Caleb Williams, QB USC-I think this will be the pick despite the noise of Williams not wanting to play here and Washington hiring Kingsbury.
1.02 Washington, Drake Maye, QB UNC
1.03 New England, Jayden Daniels, QB LSU
1.04 Arizona, Marvin Harrison Jr, WR OSU
1.05 LAC, Malik Nabers, WR LSU
1.06 NYG, Rome Odunze, WR Washington
1.07 Tennessee, Joe Alt, LT ND
1.08 Atlanta, Dallas Turner, Edge Alabama

*Trade* Chicago trades pick 1,09 to Las Vegas Raiders for pick 1.13 and 2024 3rd round pick

1.09 LVR, Olu Fashanu, OT Penn State
1.10 NYJ, JC Latham, OT Alabma
1.11 Minnesota, Jared Verse Edge FSU
1.12 Denver, Brock Bowers, TE UGA
1.13 Chicago, Brian Thomas Jr, WR LSU-6'4 205 lb 4.4 WR. Not a finished product by any means but very talented. Would fit in nicely next to DJ Moore.

2.43 Chicago via ATL, T'Vondre Sweat, DT Texas-Massive DT. Huge power, immovable that has more quickness and explosivenss than you'd think for a guy that's 360. Dominated Senior Bowl practices.
3.75 Chicago, Adisa Isaac, Edge Penn State-Developmental Edge with good tools at 6'4, 250.
3.77 via LVR, Ricky Pearsall WR, UF-Yes, all the stereotypes about a white slot WR fit here. Had an impressive week at the Senior Bowl. Also can return punts.
4.110 Chicago Zak Zinter, Guard Mich-Will be a starter sooner rather than later. Excellent value here
4.122 Tykee Smith, Safety UGA-Had a good Senior Bowl game. Decent athlete. Good depth, special teams piece
5.142 Jaylin Simpson, CB Auburn-Versatile DB that has played both safety and CB.

QB- Caleb Williams, Jacoby Brissett, Tyson Bagent
RB-Khalil Herbert, Roschon Johnson, Travis Homer
WR-DJ Moore, Hollywood Brown, Brian Thomas Jr, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Tyler Scott, Ricky Pearsall
TE-Cole Kmet, Albert Okwuegbunam
LT-Braxton Jones
LG-Tevin Jenkins
C-Lloyd Cushenberry
RG-Nate Davis, Zak Zinter
RT-Darnell Wright, Larry Borom

LE-Montez Sweat, Adisa Issac
NT-Andrew Billings, T'Vondre Sweat
3T-Gervon Dexter, Zaach Pickens
RE-Bryce Huff, Demarcus Walker
SLB-Jack Sandborn, Noah Sewell
MLB-Tremaine Edmunds
WLB-TJ Edwards
CB-Jaylon Johnson, Josh Blackwell

Nice work! Some of the contracts dont track (Huffs going to get over $15M a year, Teven isnt taking a $6M a year extension) and not huge fan of Thomas at 13 (feel like you could trade back farther and pick up a 2nd instead of a 3rd and still take Thomas) but overall very solid mock that covers most of the Bears needs!

Good job, I would absolutely hate what you did with #9 and ending up with Thomas at #13 and a 3rd. That's not nearly enough of a return to drop back 4 spots... This is a very feasible mock although not very exciting imo.... B+ grade
