We're down bad right now, CCS. 13 game losing streak and that doesn't seem like it's ending any time soon. But, we need to pull ourselves up by the bootstraps and do what we do best - start researching the next Head Coach in week 3.

We can talk all day long about Poles - but this thread is reserved for HC candidates. Matt Eberflus to be frank, sucks ass. As it turns out, fancy acronyms like HITS and MOTORIN N MOVING don't translate into very many wins in the NFL because grown men making millions of dollars don't give a shit about that. Who would have thought? He's got to go.

In no particular order - below are some 'up and coming' type offensive OCs that could be ready for the jump. I'm leaving out defensive guys because really, we just don't need that right now. I'll be interested to see how many of these guys perform this year.

- Mike Kafka, Giants OC
- Brian Johnson, Eagles OC
- Eric Bieniemy, Commanders OC
- Brian Callahan, Bengals OC
- Kellen Moore, Chargers OC
- Ben Johnson, Lions OC
- Ken Dorsey, Bills OC

I'm sure there will be some re-treads available, DCs and dipping down into the college ranks. With this season likely toast, we can start watching for new potential HCs! Exciting times as a Bears fan.

I've come up with a numerical system for ranking HC candidates. Patent pending.

+5 points if they coordinated the top offense or defense, +4 if 2nd best, etc.
+3 points for every previous season in the top 5.
+3 points for being a superbowl coordinator.
+2 points for every team that gives them an HC interview this year
-100,000,000 points if George McCaskey announces he has hired them.

I'm not going to lie, the list is pretty uninspiring this year.

Right now, Harbaugh and Ben Johnson are the only two I'm mildly intrigued by. The rest seems pretty meh..

The downside to Harbaugh now is that he's 60 years old. The upside is that he's experienced and was really good at his job when he was with SF until upper management started beefing with him.

Ben Johnson doesn't have much experience, and he's working with an already made-man in Jared Goff. He's made DET's offense into a powerhouse, but he's never developed a quarterback before.

Maybe someone else will flash before the end of the season that'll get me more excited, but right now, it's looking pretty dull.

My darkhorse candidate would be Jon Gruden, though I know the Mccaskey's would never consider it. He was starting to build a pretty good offense in LV before he was fired, and I would trust him working with a young quarterback more than just about anybody else.

Names that intrigue me because they were either OC's or Asst.HC's with successful teams

Darell Bevell-Dolphins qb coach/passing game coordinator. Was SEA OC during SB run with Russ.
Anthony Lynn-SF Asst.HC/RB Coach
Jim Harbaugh-Michigan HC
Harold Goodwin-BUCS Asst.HC/ run-game coordinator. Knows Halas Hall , was on Lovie's staff. Specialty is o-line
Ryan Day-Ohio St HC. Cup of coffee in NFL. QB coach for Eagles in 2015 and 9ers in 2016

Ben Johnson as you weaken the Lions in the process.

Ben Johnson appears to be a really good playcaller and worth a look. No idea what Brian Johnson has done to deserve a look.

My premise was, if u keep Fields, because I believe he will bring the Hurts like gameplan, which is not a ton of reading field and has actual balance
