None of the above and too early to tell. But gun to my head I'm drinking Kool aid.

They tanked last season so not taking that win loss record to heart.

Coaching: Players seem motivated and buying into the culture. I see the hustle and violence in the play. They did a great job of adjusting the offense last year to play up Fields strengths but had little to work with on both sides of the ball. There is more talent this year so judgement is coming.

GM: Pace has made several moves that for now look great. He seems to live by the draft philosophy that every pick is a risk and the more chances to swing the better. He's made one move that people can question and say was out of desperation but the counter argument is that that positional value is at an all time high and it was the perfect athletic and size fit. That decision will also play out this year.

If you search for the tape reviews from last year, there's a lot of good tidbits that indicate Alan Williams really did some stuff with what little he had to work with (dogshit pass rush skill players). Esp after he lost Roquan and others later on. Getsy also dialed up some really intriguing plays as of the NE game & beyond. Surely there's more that both were simply unable to use from their playbooks bec they couldn't trust the Joes enough on their 1:1 assignments, speed, separation, etc.

Great list but I didn't vote. I'd say a 2, but not that I'm hating on Eber or Poles ATM. Rebuild certainly not done and there's holes, but that was expected. 80% seems about right (which Poles specifically said recently IIRC). They should stack some wins this season against a much easier schedule.

Lining up very similar to 2018, after losing 7-8 games by 1 score in a very tough schedule, only to earn a much easier one after. 2018 had a much better defense, but also a much worse offense. WRs & OL additions are exciting.

Curious how many reckless ref calls we'll see killing late drives this year vs. our DBs, WRs, and free shots on Fields? Becoming a respected team again & with a nationally beloved QB will certainly help!!

I voted 2. I have serious concerns about the OL and DL.

I think Flus is mostly fine as a HC. He is definitely the CEO type which is fine but I’m not sold on Alan Williams.

I think this season needed to provide a definitive answer as to whether or not Fields was the guy but I’m not sure we can get there. This OL is going to be dog shit again.
He is not THEGUY.

Pre-training camp, my confidence meter was probably like a 4/5 that they would be fighting for a playoff spot before season's end, but now I'm at a 2.5-3/5. I haven't really liked what I've heard out of camp from the offense, outside of DJ Moore, and the injuries have me concerned about how the chemistry will look to start off the year.

I'm going to hold this team, despite my concerns, to the standard of being somewhere in that 8-10 win window to keep themselves alive as a viable playoff threat all year long. I don't think that is unreasonable, given the additions that were made and the expectation that your young quarterback can take another big step in his development. Justin Fields is the most talented quarterback in the division. The excuse making for him is over this year. He has more than enough weapons to work with to show improvement as a passer. If that doesn't happen, the Bears should be looking for a new quarterback in 2024. It's as simple as that.

-8-10 wins is my expectation
-6-7 wins would feel like a disappointment and an underachievement
-<6 wins means Eberflus has to be fired and the quarterback either wound up on IR or isn't very good
He is not the most talented QB in the division.

Was cautiously optimistic before the preseason but now I’m bracing for more of the same. Hope I’m wrong though

This season will come down to protection and separation. If the Bears protect Fields and the receivers separate, they will win a lot of games.

The defense has improved enough to help flip the one score losses if Fields can do his thing.

I don't believe in this coaching staff at all.

I have no faith in Alan Williams as a DC. I think the Tampa-2 is outdated and simplistic. We don't have the personnel in the front 4 to make this defense affective. We're going to continually get gashed.

Getsy is also a big question mark. Can he develop and call plays? I'm not sure about his abilities either. He got a pass last season because of a lack of talent, but he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt either. It took him half of last season to figure out the Fields can run, and get Kmet involved in the pass game.
My concerns showed up today.

The DL was a non-factor. Love was unbothered and able to find receivers running free in our soft zone.

Getsy called up three passes beyond 10 yards of the LOS. Awful coaching job on both sides of the ball.

Knew it lol. Both lines still suck. Everyone hired last offseason is looking like a fraud

They suck. Fields is trash. Packers own the Bears again. Going to be another long decade.

7 to 10 wins...as I was before preseason, and still am at.

I saw nothing in preseason to make me think superbowl and nothing making me think this team won't take a major step.

This team clearly has large holes, but that was to be expected. I'm just hoping to compete in the majority of games and seeing major improvements from QB1.
what are your thoughts now ? after watching that shit show yesterday

I feel like their floor is 7 wins. Last year was 3 wins, but that was in a season where they tried to lose. So I don't really see them as starting as a 3 win team in a year they are now trying to win.

I think their ceiling is winning the division.

But this is ALL dependent on Fields development. If he can play like he did during the Pats-Bills game stretch we are a 11-13 win team.
LOL LOL LOL

keep targeting Moore just 3 times a game, that love affair should go South fast
