I agree and I don't want to use excuses or anything but I think if and when Toews comes back, it'll definitely help our PP.

maybe...our PP has been turrible for a better part of the season though...not just the last 16 games

The power play is currently where the Blackhawks' offense goes to die. Oduya's been great on D, but even he's not immune from the plague of the Hawks' not-so-special teams.

I don't even understand it. There's so much talent on this team, how can the PPs be so miserable? I remember during the 9 game losing streak, they weren't even able to get many shots up during those PPs.

Me neither man. Even last year, when they were the most up-and-down team I'd ever seen, the power play was still good enough to be ranked near the top of the league.

My only guess is that the league has figured out the Blackhawks' power play through film study and they're not making enough changes to remedy that.

Once the game was 3-0, this game was done.

Hawks had one good spurt & that was it.

So one bad game in the last twelve against a team we always lose to is weighted more than the rest of them combined?

Yes, because if we make it passed round 1 and or more depending on final seeding, we will have to face them in the playoffs in which we would get our asses handed to us. We cannot match up with the preds, its just that simple. Yes Toews,Keith and Krueger were out, but it still shouldnt have been a shalacking.

You shouldn't agree. I think they could survive one round with Toews and without a PP depending on who they play; however, they will not go deep without one.

Er, technically speaking the Dueling Banjos from Deliverence is the anthem for south of the Mason-Dixon line, so the original statement as written was grammatically correct. ;)

Just for the hell of it, even though the make up of the teams are different, didn't the Bruins have an absolutely terrible PP last year in the playoffs?

Obviously having a better PP will help, and it is probably a longer shot without one, but it can be done.

Last year Boston went 3 full rounds with a powerplay as inept as the Hawks'

But they had Thomas playing out of his mind in net. I don't forsee Crawdad being able to steal rounds and multiple game 7s.

edit: how the hell did I not see Writer's post? I'm an idiot.

I guess the Hawks could still win in spite of the power play, but damn, does that make things incredibly difficult.
