I'm aware he doesn't and I can't really say it's a bad thing. The governors across the nation that I've seen with full control do nothing but bankrupt their respective states.

ya it's definitely a good thing that the governor doesnt have anymore power here...otherwise we would be in a lot more trouble..our financial "success" is more from our system than our governor

The system we're currently in is not sustainable as more and more people will not be able to afford companies products that they continue to make so much money off of. Credit will collapse in this country eventually if we stay on the current path. It wont be dire financial collapse in which the country no longer exists. As Crystallas said, there will always be an economy.

agreed...my question to you is how differently(positive or negative) do you think our situation would be if the government had set a budget limit or cap?

I don't like authoritarian leaning left or right politicians at all. Lucky for you guys in Texas, most of the state has been pro-free market for such a long time, that it would take any Governor a while to **** it up! I wouldn't give Perry much credit, if any.
