My rep wouldn't call me on fear I'd ***** at him...

Funny, mine doesnt call me either anymore... Me thinks I see a trend...

Which is fine, since there is nothing to be said anyway.

Why not do both?!

For that same $100 ticket for a Prince concert.......... I can spend it at a *** bar, watching someone perform similar to Prince and have many beers to go with it, likely with change remaining. Sure there won't be a sign or fireworks, but at least the performer can sing a Prince song and try to upstage him.

I know its not the same as going to a Prince concert, but its an economical investment, and I still have a good time.

This is just sad that you think that anyone in boystown can put on anywhere near the performance that Prince will. I'm sure you could probably have just as much fun, but the experience would be very very different. Prince is just one of those people, you can't duplicate.

I say the same thing about Lady Gaga or Madonna. There's always someone out here that will try to outstage them, and you can do it all at a *** bar.

Only difference is, I get to laugh and drink in the process.

It's like you're saying that the theater at your local high school is the same as going to broadway. I get what you're trying to say, but you still can't compare the two.

Of course not. I can't compare those at all. Prince is one hell of a performer, but I just think that its too expensive to see him.

I apologize, its just that Ticketbastard has been upping the rates on concert tickets for years and its pissing me off to the point where I don't bother going.

Hell, my Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses concert at the Chicago Theatre in October is a damn good price. $35 for the Upper Deck isn't bad at all, especially since this has been in the works for years. If Prince had similar prices going on, I'd attend.

True, and I understand, I dont' go to many concerts at all anymore. I stopped going to Lolla and everything, but for some people it just doesn't matter, especially if you don't know how much longer they will be doing it. I got the chance to see Roger Water's bring back the wall to the United Center, it wasn't the same, but it was still incredible, and I wouldn't have missed it for anything. I think I paid like 70-90 for nosebleeds, but it was more than worth it. No one can recreate what I got from that show anywhere, and it was worth every penny. To me there are just certain people/bands that can do that. Would I pay that much for one of the fly by nights like other people, hell no, but there are certain bands that out way the economic costs, you just find a way because they aren't just bands, they are a piece of you. You have found memories of them growing up and ever song takes you somewhere. That's what you are paying for as much as the actual performance. I'm not saying I feel that strongly about Prince, but a few bands I do.

While I'm not a huge fan, I'd love to witness Prince shred live. Because of his more "pop" tendencies, folks don't often realize just how great of a guitarist he is.

Yeah I ment to mention this earlier. It's another reason a performer like him is important to see live. The only exposure we get it the pop culture media eploitation of his image, but it's been said for a while now that he absolutely kills the guitar.

How great a MUSICIAN he is. Truly one of the musical geniuses of the generation. I think it was in the Kevin Smith Q+A he does where he talked about PrinceLand. Like every room in his house is prepped as a recording studio, crap like that.

While Prince is a bit of a wacko too, I do respect the hell out of the man's talent.

The stories Kevin Smith has about Prince are almost as good as the one's Dave Chappelle tells... Absolutely brilliant musician (and producer) but possibly bat-shit crazy.

Yeah, but they always have "your" table waiting you.

The drag queens there are good, don't misunderstand me. But last I checked it was 30 bucks plus a 4 drink minimum.
